SIMUNJAN (April 30): Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee has expressed full support for the proposal to upgrade the Simunjan District Police Headquarters (IPD), given the area's rapid development.
In a Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) report, she emphasised the increasingly urgent need to enhance security facilities such as the district police headquarters in order to keep pace with the surrounding progress.
'We want a police station that is more modern, conducive, and capable of meeting the growing security demands,' she said in her speech during Simunjan IPD's Aidilfitri gathering here on Monday.
According to Rodiyah, she had raised a question in Parliament to the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) regarding the inclusion of the Simunjan IPD in the upgrading projects under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).
As a result, Simunjan IPD is now listed in the Royal Malaysia Police Strategic Development Action Plan (PSPDRM) 2021–2025 and will be included in the 13MP Rolling Plan.
The KDN and Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) are presently in the process of identifying a site and resolving land issues with the Sarawak government.
In this regard, Rodiyah urged the Simunjan police chief DSP Rafhan Kepli to resubmit the upgrade proposal paper to the relevant authorities, and assured that she will continue to advocate for the proposal to ensure it receives serious attention from the ministry.
At the same time, she also encouraged the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) to submit a proposal paper to upgrade the Simunjan fire station, so as not to miss out on opportunities under 13MP.
Among the present at the event were Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris and Simunjan District officer Sanuyah Mohamad. district police headquarters lead Rodiyah Sapiee upgrade facilities
