PDO suspended for harassing GP staff leading to his death in Bidar district
A Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) of Sindhankera Gram Panchayat in Humnabad taluk of Bidar district was on Tuesday suspended on the charge of harassing a gram panchayat staff.
A statement said that Chief Executive Officer of Bidar Zilla Panchayat Girish Badole has issued an order suspending PDO Sugandha in connection with harassment of gram panchayat staff Subhash.
A complaint was lodged against the PDO at Chittaguppa Police Station saying that constant harassment by the officer and denial of his salary took a toll on Subhash's health and he passed away recently.
It is said that the deceased Subhash was denied his salary for the last two years.
Earlier, members of Dalit organisations also staged protests demanding the PDO's suspension.
