Glorious Goodwood day two: Betting odds and race rundown
AFTER an exhilarating day one of the Qatar Goodwood Festival, we are set fair for another cracking day of racing. Field Of Gold, who has been nothing but impressive in winning his Group 1s this season, takes on his elders today and is a short price to take care of them. But will it all be plain sailing for this superstar miler? Win singles and each way bets from the best horse racing betting sites: 1:20 Coral Pipped At The Post Winners Handicap (3yo 0-105) - 1m4f Joseph O'Brien sends over Omni Man on the back of his fifth-place finish at Royal Ascot. He may have gotten closer if it wasn't for slight interference over two furlongs out, and he looks sure to be in the mix. Sing Us A Song was behind Omni Man at Royal Ascot, and there is no apparent reason why he will finish in front of the Joseph O'Brien runner here. The progressive KURAKKA winning run came to an end with a staying on third at Newmarket, and it was clear that he was crying out to be stepped back up in trip again. His Newmarket third was over one mile two furlongs, and this trip, which he claimed the second of his two wins, looks his ideal distance now. He's been hit with a two-pound raise for his latest run, which seems harsh, but even so, he will be the one running to hopefully run down the leaders. He's unexposed over this distance and has a massive chance of getting back in the winner's enclosure. 2024 Winner: French Duke J: James Doyle T: Roger Varian Odds: 16/5Fav Our pick: KURAKKA 1:55 Group 3 HKJC World Pool Oak Tree Stakes (3yo+) - 7f Bright Thunder arrives here on the back of an impressive win at Listed level in France. That win didn't come out of turn as he finished second to the now Group 2 winner and Group 1 placed Crimson Advocate. She's given massive respect here and can find the required improvement to be involved. Tabiti took her form to a new level when a two-length third at Royal Ascot. That was on the back of a 252-day break, and if she doesn't bounce after that run, then she is a leading player. Betty Clover was pulled up at Royal Ascot and can be given another chance to redeem herself. Silver Ghost is well worth a crack at this level and can go well at big odds. However, a chance is taken on ARABIAN DUSK at a price. She ran as well as could have been expected in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup, and that race has been working out well since. She has since finished fourth in a Group 3, and ran like a filly who is ready for a crack at seven furlongs again. She can put in a strong showing at a backable price. Our pick: ARABIAN DUSK 2:30 Group 3 HKJC World Pool Molecomb Stakes (2yo) - 5f This revolves around the Ger Lyons-trained LADY IMAN as she looks to get back to winning ways after being outstayed over six furlongs in a Curragh Group 2. She has always looked like a ball of speed, and the drop to the minimum trip should be enough to get this talented filly back to winning ways. Ameeq ran well above market expectations in the Norfolk Stakes, and if she can prove that that run was not a fluke, she could be the one who can chance home the selection. 2024 Winner: Big Mojo J: Silvestre De Sousa T: Michael Appleby Odds: 25/1 Our pick: LADY IMAN 3:05 Group 1 Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes (3yo+) - 1m A slow pace in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes was the downfall of Rosallion not getting his head in front at Royal Ascot. He took a keen hold throughout and seemed to take an age to get into top gear, and when he did, he ran out of track to reel in Docklands. This is no easier than what he faced at Royal Ascot, and he will need to be at his very best here if he is to make up for his narrow loss last time out. The one that they all have to beat is arguably the colt of the season in FIELD OF GOLD. This hugely talented son of Kingman has only tasted defeat once this season, when he failed to reel in Ruling Court in the 2000 Guineas, and would have done so if his then jockey Kieran Shoemark had been switched on to what was going on around him. Field Of Gold went on to leave the disappointment of Newmarket behind him when winning the Irish 2000 Guineas, and then bolted up at Royal Ascot leaving Henri Matisse over three lengths back in second. He gets the weight-for-age allowance here, and should this not be one race too many this season, it's hard to see him not recording his third Group 1 win in a row. 3:45 British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Handicap (3yo+ 0-105) - 1m2f This has a wide-open look to it, and not many can be ruled out. Bintjeddah has been improving with experience and ran her best race of the season when staying on strong to grab second place at Newmarket. She takes a step up in trip which looks set to unlock even more improvement. She is one of many that has a clear chance, but a chance is taken on handicap debutant WONDER STAR. The William Haggas filly was an impressive winner on her seasonal debut at Ascot, and backed that up with what was a disappointing run at listed level at Newbury. A lot more was expected from her on the day, and the fact that she hasn't been seen since would suggest that all was not right. She gets in here off a mark of 82, and given the promise of her maiden win, she could have been let in lightly here. 4:20 British Stallion Studs EBF Alice Keppel Fillies' Conditions Stakes (2yo) - 5f There could be a bit of an upset here with so many unexposed types lining up, but it would be disappointing if ZELAINA wasn't able to make it two wins from three starts. She was an impressive winner on debut and bettered that performance when finishing just over three lengths off True Love at Royal Ascot. She will improve from that experience, and given that she was sent off at 5/1 on the day, a lot more was expected. This represents a considerable drop in class, and she will prove a tough nut to crack. Luna Mia wasn't beaten over six furlongs in a Group 2 at the Curragh, and the drop to five furlongs with the addition of blinker looks the right move. Our pick: ZELAINA 4:55 World Pool Bet With The tote Handicap (3yo+ 0-95) - 7f Defence Minister's keenness got the better of him at Sandown when he failed to reel in Mudbir. The setup here should help him settle and comes with a live chance. The fellow Wathnan Racing-owned Native Warrior must defy top weight, but he has a solid level of form that entitles him to massive respect here. Nine-time winner and course and distance winner Rhoscolyn is the type that can suddenly bounce back to form and is on a mark that he is capable of winning off. However, the one who is given one more chance is BILLYJOH. He has been sending out signals that he could be about to win one of these of late, and even though he comes here on the back of a run that saw him finish eighth, he had a few excuses. He's now back to a mark that saw him finish a clear second at Royal Ascot last season, and if he gets the breaks, he will be bang there at the finish. Our pick: BILLYJOH 🕔 Qatar Goodwood day two schedule TIME RACE DISTANCE 1:20 Coral Pipped At The Post Winners Handicap 1m4f 1:55 Group 3 HKJC World Pool Oak Tree Stakes 7f 2:30 Group 3 HKJC Pool Molecomb Stakes 5f 3:05 Group 1 Visit Qatar Sussex Stakes 1m 3:45 British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies' Handicap 1m2f 4:20 British Stallion Studs EBF Alice Keppel Fillies' Conditional Stakes 5f 4:55 World Pool Bet With The tote Handicap 7f 📺 How to watch day two of the Qatar Goodwood Festival Location: Chichester, England, United Kingdom Date/Time: Wednesday, 30th July 2025. Value Scope: Each way horseracing tips for Royal Ascot on Thursday on ITV
Two days down, three to go, our in form tipster has run the rule over the action for Ladies Day at Royal Ascot and is particularly keen on a runner in the King George V Stakes Go into the King George V Stakes battle with a GUNSHIP (3.05) on your side. The form of all four of his races is extremely solid. He beat Merchant – one of today's rivals – on Newcastle's all-weather track in December and he chased home useful Michael Scofield under a penalty at Southwell. His handicap debut third behind another of today's runners - Sing Us A Song – at Sandown was better than it looked as he came from further back than ideal. The way he brushed aside dual subsequent winner War Hawk at Southwell last month suggests he is improving at a rapid rate and the step up to 1m4f for the first time should help. Have 2pts each-way at 9-1. Sky Bet is paying out on six places. ICEFORD (5.00) has been progressing nicely and he looks just the right type for the Britannia Handicap. Johnny Murtagh's Irish raider came good at the sixth attempt when getting on top of Shameful in the closing stages of a competitive 7f Curragh handicap last month. The step up to a mile in this big-field handicap will suit him perfectly. Have 1pt each-way at 25-1. Plenty of firms are offering five places. William Haggas has only had one previous runner in the Hampton Court Stakes in the last ten years. That was Mohaafeth and he was successful in 2021. ARABIAN FORCE (5.35) is a typically-progressive three-year-old from the same yard. He only made his debut little more than two months ago but he has since notched up wins at Wetherby and Salisbury. The way he sauntered clear of last weekend's Sandown winner Gladius to record a five-length victory on his most recent start was most impressive. This Group 3 will require another personal best but that is highly likely. Have 1pt each-way at 20-1. Several bookies are going four places. WITCH HUNTER (6.10) won the Buckingham Palace Stakes two years ago and he looks to have an excellent chance of regaining the trophy. He had a shot at the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot last year and he ran a cracker to finish fourth. His nose second behind Tiber Flow in the Group 2 Hungerford Stakes was another example of his class and he's had excuses in recent handicap starts. Have 2pts each-way at 16-1. Sky Bet is paying out on seven places.

Racing selections and nap from Newsboy for Newcastle and 4 other Sunday meetings
Newsboy's Nap selection for Sunday, May 11, is the James Ferguson-trained Gunship (4.00) at Newcastle. His next best runs in the following race at the Gosforth Park track, Steel Tiger (4.35) GUNSHIP (4.00, nap) is fancied to fire a broadside and take his record at Newcastle to 2-2 with a win in the Michael John Hrycko Handicap at Gosforth Park on Sunday. James Ferguson's son of Sea The Stars, who made a winning debut at the track in December 2024, came home well from the back to take third to Sing Us A Song at Sandown Park on his handicap debut last time out in April and still has more to offer. Also at Newcastle, STEEL TIGER (4.35, nb) is taken to roar home in the Celebrating The Life Of Lee Murphy Handicap. The Simon and Ed Crisford-trained four year old is a course and distance winner.
