Tripura, AAI sign MoU for faster building plan approval

Agartala: In a significant move to boost the Ease of Doing Business and streamline digital governance, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the government of Tripura on Wednesday inked an MoU to integrate building plan clearance systems via digital platforms. The MoU creates a digital connection between Tripura's Single Window System for Online Building Plan Approval System (SWS-OBPAS) and AAI's No Objection Certificate Application System (NOCAS). As Agartala expands within a five-kilometer radius of MBB International Airport, AAI's clearance for tall buildings has become crucial. This integration promises faster and more efficient processing of building height clearance requests using colour-coded zoning Maps (CCZM), significantly reducing bureaucratic hurdles for developers and citizens. Under the new system, applications for buildings with proposed heights below those indicated in the CCZM grids will be automatically approved, removing the need for separate submissions to AAI. However, structures proposed within designated Red zones, which could affect air navigation safety, will still require mandatory AAI clearance to comply with aviation regulations. The MoU was signed by Purbita Thakur Sinha, executive director (Air Traffic Management), AAI, M Zhimo, general manager (ATM), North Eastern Region, AAI, and Megha Jain, director, urban development department, Government of Tripura. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The boy meets a dog on the street - no one expected what happened next.
