Coach Hugo Broos: 'No sign of another Themba Zwane but Sinoxolo Kwayiba looks the part'
Sinoxolo Kwayiba Orlando Pirates-linked Sinoxolo Kwayiba has revealed his desire to play for one of the Premier Soccer League's big three clubs. The Chippa United midfielder is about to make a breakthrough. Now that the dust has settled on Bafana Bafana's international friendlies against Tanzania and Mozambique, national team coach Hugo Broos remains candid in his assessment of his squad's capabilities, particularly regarding the search for a player who can match the unique skill set of Themba Zwane. The 35-year-old Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Zwane is currently participating in the FIFA Club World Cup in the USA, leaving a notable void in the national squad that has yet to be filled. Speaking on the challenges of finding a successor to Zwane, Broos remarked: 'I must be honest and say that until now, we didn't find the second Themba, that type of player. But maybe we can solve it in another way, and that's something we wanted to see also in those two games." While singing Zwane's praises, Broos highlighted the potential of rising star Sinoxolo Kwayiba, the Chippa United midfielder. The 25-year-old Kwayiba came off the bench against Tanzania and started in the subsequent match against Mozambique, where he left a mark by scoring and earning the 'Player of the Match' accolade in the team's impressive 2-0 win.

Bafana Bafana young guns raise their hands with convincing win over Mozambique
ASHLEY Cupido and Sinoxolo Kwayiba scored two second half goals as Bafana Bafana beat Mozambique in an International Friendly match at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Tuesday. | BackpagePix Image: BackpagePix Bafana Bafana concluded their international friendly week on a high note with a commanding 2-0 victory over Mozambique at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday night. Goals from Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Ashley Cupido secured the win for South Africa on the night where they created several additional chances that could have seen the scoreline increase even further. Head coach Hugo Broos was rewarded for taking a gamble by offering some of the less regularly featured players a chance to prove themselves on the international stage. Following a goalless stalemate against Tanzania last Friday in what turned out to be a low-key affair, the second match of the window against Mozambique was anything but quiet. Broos' men came out firing from the outset, not only putting Mozambique's defense under pressure but also giving the coaching staff plenty to think about as a number of the emerging players hit their strides quickly. The first half saw Bafana's youthful lineup carving out multiple chances in front of goal, though Mozambique's goalkeeper Ivane Urrubal stood firm to deny them an early breakthrough. However, the second half opened up significantly, and Mozambique's defensive shortcomings were finally punished as Bafana found the back of the net twice. It brought to a close a friendly window that may very well mark the beginning of promising careers for several of the team's young talents. Here, Obakeng Meletse will profile the three most impressive fringe players who made a strong case for future selection in the national setup. Nonetheless, his movement and positioning constantly troubled Mozambique's backline, forcing them to stay alert at all times. His knack for finding space was eye-catching, and had his final touch been more clinical, the outcome might have been even more memorable. Despite opening the scoring, there was a sense that the 25-year-old's night could have been even more productive given the chances that came his way. His pace and sharp shooting from a distance kept the Mozambican defense guessing and under pressure. The 20-year-old winger consistently posed a threat, and although several opportunities didn't result in goals, it was his two assists that ultimately helped Bafana secure their comfortable two-goal lead and see out the match. FIVE dream signings to make Orlando Pirates champions of Africa
Orlando Pirates aren't far away from becoming a consistent force on the continent. They do, however, need a bit of surgery. Makhehlene Makhaula is still a highly effective defensive midfield operator, but Pirates might need a long-term contingency plan because he'll be 36 in November. Although it's an absurd suggestion, Pirates might need to make an audacious move for a player of Teboho Mokoena's calibre. Not Mokoena himself, but a domineering central midfield general to go alongside Thalente Mbatha, or free up Mbatha to get higher up the pitch more often. The Buccaneers have wrapped up the signing of Chippa United and Bafana midfield playmaker Sinoxolo Kwayiba. The 25-year-old is part of Hugo Broos' latest South Africa squad to contest friendlies in June. Kwayiba bagged six goals and an assist from 25 league appearances for the Chilli Boys this season. The Gqeherba-born star is in the latest Bafana squad. Sinoxolo Kwayiba celebrates a goal for Chippa United against Cape Town Spurs. Fiston Mayele is a popular name in the media, but will they go for a guy on the wrong side of 30, especially with a rumoured price tag of R12 million? What did Makgopa and Mabasa do to offend Hugo Broos? According to Soccer-Laduma , Orlando Pirates will soon seal a deal for Polokwane City right-back Thabang Matuludi. The same publication sounds less optimistic about their chances of snapping up Bafana winger Oswin Appollis. The 23-year-old reportedly has his heart set on Kaizer Chiefs.
