Two channels are brought BACK to Virgin Media today after vanishing from TVs – there are Sky Sports changes coming too
VIRGIN Media customers are seeing the return of two popular channels to their TV guides today – after both mysteriously disappeared from screens. The two channels had briefly vanished from the EPG (electronic programme guide), leaving some viewers bemused. Sky Cinema Epic Worlds HD has been renamed to to Sky Hits HD , while Sky Superman is now rebranded as Sky Sci-Fi/Horror HD. Viewers can access Sky Hits by using the code 303 on both satellite and glass/stream. Sky ScFi/Horror HD has launched to EPG number 311 on both satellite and Sky Glass/Stream. Advertisement Most read in Tech Virgin Media customers can find Sky Hits on channel 318 and Sky Sci-Fi/Horror HD on channel 412. Both are back free of charge and available to watch immediately. There's no need to update your box or do anything manually – the channels should appear automatically as part of a wider refresh. Sports fans should also be aware that on Friday July 1 Sky Sports Action (Satellite 408/865 - Glass/Stream 408) will temporarily change its name to SkySp Lions/SkySp Lions HD. As part of the shake-up, Sky has scrapped several themed channels, including Sky Blockbusters, Sky Pitch Perfect, and Sky Family. Sky Jurassic World (Satellite 307/851 - Sky Glass/Stream 307) was renamed Sky Action / Sky Action HD on Monday July 7, reverting back from a temporary name change. If you key in 1001 into your Sky remote, you will now be taken to Sky Sports Classics. Number 1002 will take you to Sky Sports Vault, while 1003 will take you to Sky Sports Stories. Four more TV channels to disappear from Sky Q boxes in days after secret overhaul & millions of users are impacted
FOUR fan-favourite channels will be disappearing this month from Sky which could leave millions of TV fans devastated. Sky previously announced that seven channels would be changed this month but that has been increased following the latest news as the company's secret overhaul continues. 3 Commencing on June 9, 2025, four channels are set to vanish as the company aims to give its service a fresh look. Sky Family will be temporarily renamed to Sky Fantasy on channel 306/850. Sky Pitch Perfect, which will replace Sky Comedy on June 7, will be reverted back into Sky Comedy on June 9, 2025. Meanwhile, Sky Blockbusters which was introduced as a temporary channel in July 2023, will be reverting back to Sky Hits on channel 303. After it was announced by ITV that their beloved channel ITVBe will cease to exist, the brand new - ITV Quiz - will take its place on channel 131. 3 This follows Sky already announcing that seven other channels will be changing this month. From Friday June 6 Sky Romance is set to go forever - now renamed to a different title. The beloved channel 302 will go by SuperheroHD, which is said to be a temporary change. Sky Fairytale on channels 306/850 was renamed to Sky Family on June 2, 2025 reverting back from a temporary change. Sky Karate Kid also had its name changed on June 2, again the channel reverted from a temporary change. The channel has returned to being named Sky Action on channel 307/851. Elsewhere, channel 310 which was previously home to Sky Pride has been renamed Sky Drama. That's Pride on channel 360 is now under a new name of That's Dance. These changes were revealed on a Sky Community page and fans expressed mixed opinions at the news. One fan said: 'Actually disappointed that the Pride channels aren't lasting all of June, or even maybe a bit longer than a few days.' Another said: 'Great about ITV Quiz channel launching 9th June, 'So excited. It will be interesting to see what day 1 will bring.' Sky already announced a major shake up to their system that affected all Sky Q and Sky+HD boxes. After a number of big brands have opted to leave TV services and stick to traditional radio plus digital listening - such as Magic and Absolute Radio at the end of 2023. 3 If you're looking for a new Sky deal, customers can get Sky Stream & Essential TV for just £15/month. The company is also giving Sky customers an upgrade for popular TV app filled with top movies. What are Sky's early termination fees? SKY TV customers will incur an early termination fee if they choose to cancel their contract before the end of the agreed minimum term. The amount you're charged depends on: How long is left of your minimum term from the date your subscriptions end, calculated in days The days you have already been billed for in advance The products you subscribe to, the price you pay for them and when your subscriptions end For Sky TV, early termination charges range from £14.00 to £42.89 per month, depending on the specific package. For instance, if you cancel a standard Sky TV package priced at £33.82 per month with 12 months remaining on a 24-month contract, you would be required to pay the remaining 12 months' fees in one lump sum. This would result in a total early termination fee of £405.84.

Sky reveals six surprise TV guide changes due in days as major channels rebrand following closures
SKY is making more surprise changes to its TV guide – with six big updates landing in just a few days. It's the latest shake-up to hit viewers this year, with familiar channels getting new names or temporary themes as part of ongoing rebrands. 2 From Monday, customers across the UK will notice some fresh new titles appearing in their Sky TV listings. The changes will affect users on Sky+, Sky Q and the newer Sky Glass and Stream platforms. The rebrands are mostly part of Sky's regular themed pop-up strategy, which sees movie channels temporarily switching names to spotlight certain actors, franchises or genres. One of the first big switches will see Sky Mega Hits return to its old title of Sky Hits HD. That means fans can expect the usual line-up of mainstream blockbusters and all-time favourites. Meanwhile, Sky Mission Impossible, which only arrived a few days earlier as a tribute to Tom Cruise's spy series, will make way for Sky 80s HD. This channel will be packed with cult classics and nostalgic hits from the neon decade. The changes aren't just limited to films either. On Wednesday 21 May, two music channels are getting seasonal makeovers. That's Oldies will rebrand as That's Summer, likely serving up sunshine tunes and feel-good throwbacks for the warmer months. At the same time, That's Dance will become That's Pride, expected to feature LGBTQ + anthems and content in the lead-up to Pride Month. Sky will continue the refresh on Friday 23 May, when family-friendly channel Sky Family is swapped out for Sky Fairytale. As the name suggests, this version of the channel is expected to focus on magical movies, fairytale favourites, and fantasy fun for all ages. Then, just one day later on Saturday 24 May, Sky Cinema Action will once again rebrand – this time to Sky M:I, dedicated solely to the Mission: Impossible franchise. Tom Cruise fans won't have long to wait between themed channels, with his biggest hits still taking centre stage across the schedule. These channel switches come at a time of big changes in the TV world. Earlier this year, Sky and Virgin Media users saw several long-standing channels close down completely. Eurosport, Pop Max, and Sky History+1 have all disappeared from screens. Much of Eurosport's content has been folded into TNT Sports, while Pop Max now lives online, and the closure of Sky History+1 is seen as a response to declining demand for time-shift channels thanks to on-demand viewing. So far, no new channel closures have been announced, but experts believe more are likely to come as streaming services continue to reshape traditional TV habits. With Sky regularly adjusting its line-up, customers are being encouraged to keep an eye on their guides for the latest updates. The channel changes taking place from 19 May are expected to last for several days or weeks, depending on the theme. Sky has not confirmed how long the temporary names will stick around, but viewers can usually expect them to run through short promotions, film seasons, or event tie-ins. Whether you're into action, nostalgia, or musical throwbacks, there's something for everyone in this latest update. But don't be surprised if your favourite Sky channel suddenly looks a little different next time you turn on the telly. Eurosport and TNT Sports owner Warner Bros Discovery is making some big changes next year. And it's likely Discovery+ will disappear as a result. The UK is one of the few big markets where Max hasn't launched yet because of existing agreements with Sky, allowing Sky Atlantic to air big HBO-made hits like Game of Thrones and The White Lotus. But the pair recently announced a new deal that will pave the way for Max's launch in the UK early 2026 as a standalone app, while Sky customers will get access at no extra cost. A DOZEN changes to Sky's TV guide are expected to take place this week – including three channel closures. The bulk of the tweaks are due today, but the shake-up is set to continue right into the weekend. 3 We're expecting at least a dozen changes to the Sky TV guide this week alone Credit: Sky Sky has revealed a number of "permanent" channel closures, and a few swaps too.
