How to watch: Sky News Australia's Real Productivity Roundtable hosted by Business Editor Ross Greenwood
A collection of economists, industry experts and key executives will take part in the Sky News Real Economic Roundtable on Wednesday at 9.50am AEST.
Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood will host the discussion, which will be broadcast live on Sky News Extra and available to view online with a Sky News streaming subscription.
Joining Greenwood will be former Productivity Commission chair Gary Banks, former Treasury assistant secretary David Pearl and Centre for Independent Studies director of energy research Aidan Morrison.
Scott Hargreaves and Daniel Wild, both from the Institute of Public Affairs, will also be in attendance, along with Coal Australia's Nick Jorss and Beetaloo Energy Australia's Alex Underwood.
Nationals Senator Matt Canavan, who organised the event, will provide an introduction.
The roundtable will focus on two key areas: how best to lift Australia's flagging productivity and the best way to ensure the nation has affordable and reliable power in the years to come.
Mr Banks and Mr Pearl will headline discussion of the first topic, starting at 10am.
Mr Morrison, Mr Jorss and Mr Underwood will then take the lead as conversation shifts to Australia's energy supply from 11am.
Greenwood will then wrap up the event, including summarising the experts' key recommendations, at 11.30am.
After the roundtable concludes, Sky News Extra viewers can stay tuned for the first of News Australia's National Bush Summit series.
The Western Australia Summit, held in Broome, will examine the impact of policymaking on regional Australia and explore solutions to reduce burdens facing rural households and businesses.
