Northeast Calgary residents struggle with pothole-filled construction detour
Drivers trying to get past an industrial park in northeast Calgary are having a rough ride on the detour.
A road leading into a northeast Calgary industrial park, the only access into the area, is filled with potholes and residents are looking to the city to do something about it.
Beaver Dam Road N.E., located north of McKnight Boulevard and west of Deerfoot Trail in the community of Skyline West, is riddled with potholes, forcing drivers to slow down.
Residents say it's the only way in or out of the area because the regular route – Goddard Avenue N.E. – is shut down due to construction.
The road isn't paved and residents say it's been in poor condition for years.

They've called on the city to bring in a grader to level out the road while construction continues.
The city is rehabilitating the bridge and conducting flood mitigation work on Goddard Avenue N.E.
The work is expected to be completed by Aug. 7.
