Ukraine strikes back
The Ukrainian military have managed to take out 40 nuclear-capable long-range Russian bombers, representing a third of the Russian air missile carrier fleet. The cost of the damaged or destroyed planes is estimated to be between US$2 and US$7 billion. They were taken out by 117 drones that cost around $4,000 each, but not launched from Ukrainian territory. It was a cunning plan, that was 18 months in the planning. The drones were smuggled into Russia in trucks and then placed into mobile wooden kit houses. The trucks went around 4,.000 kms into Russia and then the roofs of the kit houses were remotely retracted, and the drones took off and targeted planes at five different airports. Slava Ukraini! UPDATE: Further details are that the truck drivers were not Ukranians but just Russians who had been hired, with no idea what was hidden in the roof of the truck. Can you imagine their surprise when you're driving along, and suddenly a few dozen drones blast off from your truck!

Kocsis: Tisza Party has Ukrainian connections that may violate Hungary's sovereignty
Máté Kocsis, ruling Fidesz's parliamentary group leader, told public radio on Sunday that the opposition Tisza Party has Ukrainian connections that may violate Hungary's sovereignty. Referring to a report leaked on Thursday, Kocsis said that Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, Tisza's defense expert who was formerly Hungary's chief of staff, had said 'totally different things' at NATO meetings than what he had written in his reports back home. Kocsis said the protocols of the general assembly meetings indicated Ruszin-Szendi had represented a 'pro-Ukraine' stance and had ended his addresses with the salute 'Slava Ukraini!'. Kocsis said that by doing this, Ruszin-Szendi was not representing his mandate and had gone against the official Hungarian position on ending the war and stopping weapons deliveries to Ukraine. He also said that after the release of the report on Ruszin-Szendi, Tisza Party leader Peter Magyar had 'used the entire left-liberal press to attack the Hungarian Armed Forces' by releasing an audio recording which the defense minister himself had published and which can also be found on the government's website. Not long after Magyar's 'incoherent accusations', Kocsis said, the Ukrainians 'accused, without any evidence' two Transcarpathian Hungarians of espionage aimed at obtaining intelligence about Ukrainian defenses in Transcarpathia. 'Though these are serious accusations, but since there's no evidence for them, it's clearly a part of the propaganda war that's been going on these last few years,' the group leader said. 'There's a pro-Ukraine former lieutenant general … there is a suspicion that he has a link to the Ukrainians, meaning he may have connections with the Ukrainian secret services, which in his case would warrant an investigation of its own,' Kocsis said. He said the 'obvious conclusion' to this was the suspicion that 'this connection was Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi himself'. 'Our political opponent, the Tisza Party, has Ukrainian connections that may, let's just say, violate the country's sovereignty,' Kocsis said. He noted that Hungarians will have to make an important decision in the coming weeks in the referendum on Ukraine's fast-tracked accession to the European Union. In response to a question, Kocsis said he did not think the 'Ukraine issue' would bring in more votes for fast-tracking Ukraine's accession,'even though this is what the opposition is hoping for'. 'I don't think that's the goal; I think the goal is to cause confusion,' the group leader said, adding that this was 'a typical secret-service operation that the Ukrainians are using as propaganda'. He said the goal was to — at the very least — create confusion in Hungary around the perception of issues relating to Ukraine. 'Our position, on the other hand, is that Hungarians shouldn't be told what to think from the Ukrainian secret service HQ or from Tisza's office in Brussels, because they themselves are the only ones who can decide on Ukraine's EU accession,' Kocsis said. He said Ukraine had been restricting the rights of its Hungarian minority community for years. He added that he did not think anything could be done in defense of the two Hungarians arrested in Ukraine, mainly because the evidence and allegations against them were not yet known. Kocsis said that sometimes these kinds of operations were not made public and did not involve any communication, but if there is, their identity and the evidence against them have to be revealed. 'But this hasn't happened, which also makes the case suspicious regarding the Tisza Party's timing,' he added.

We will protect Hungary against the coordinated attack of the Tisza Party and Ukrainian secret service
Ukrainian authorities have recently accused Hungary of espionage on Ukrainian territory, but these claims appear less grounded in fact than in political theater. For the Hungarian government, this is not a matter of intelligence operations gone awry—it is a clear sign of growing coordination between Ukraine's intelligence services and Hungary's opposition Tisza Party. This alliance has now become undeniable. At NATO military consultations, former Chief of Staff Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, now a prominent figure in the Tisza Party, openly voiced positions aligned with Ukrainian interests. He reportedly concluded his speeches with the slogan 'Slava Ukraini' (Glory to Ukraine), and has spoken confidently about maintaining high-level contacts with Ukrainian leadership. These are not incidental gestures—they are strategic moves pointing to deliberate cooperation with a foreign power. The Hungarian government sees this alignment as a deeply troubling development. It is unprecedented in the country's recent history that a domestic political actor would work in tandem with the intelligence services of a neighboring state. This partnership, aimed at discrediting Hungary's national security structures, amounts to an attack on sovereignty from within. Further raising concern, Ukraine's latest accusations against Hungary were immediately echoed and amplified by Tisza Party leadership. The timing and substance of these attacks suggest not coincidence, but coordination. What began with political messaging from opposition figures soon escalated into a full-scale international smear campaign, complete with fabricated claims and selective leaks designed to undermine public confidence in Hungarian defense institutions. In response, Hungary has acted decisively. Two Ukrainian diplomats, identified as intelligence officers operating under diplomatic cover, have been expelled. This measure signals that while Hungary continues to advocate for peace and neutrality in the region, it will not allow foreign actors—whether governments or their political proxies—to interfere in domestic affairs. The broader context must also be understood. Hungary has consistently refused to supply weapons to Ukraine and has resisted pressure to escalate military involvement. These positions have made the country a target, especially as decisions near on Ukraine's potential EU accession. In this climate, the alignment between a Hungarian opposition party and Ukraine's security apparatus is more than troubling—it is destabilizing. The Hungarian government remains committed to protecting national sovereignty, defending democratic stability, and exposing any political force—foreign or domestic—that seeks to erode public trust through collusion and deception. Hungary will meet every attack with resolve.

Neil Young Cancels Free Concert in Ukraine, Citing Safety Concerns
The post Neil Young Cancels Free Concert in Ukraine, Citing Safety Concerns appeared first on Consequence. Neil Young has canceled plans to play a free concert in Ukraine, saying he couldn't 'in good conscience' take his crew into the war-torn country. 'We had a good venue, close to a shelter, but the changing situation on the ground was too much,' Young wrote on his website. 'I could not in good conscience take my crew and instruments into that area. My apologies to all. Ukraine is a great country with a good leader. Slava Ukraini' Get Neil Young Tickets Here Young announced the show earlier this month, but didn't follow up with specific details like a date and location. He previously described Russia's invasion of Ukraine as 'the crazy war of an old dying guy who wants to relive his life and make things better for himself because of mistakes he thinks were made 50 years ago.' More recently, Young gave a harsh assessment of how Putin's pal, President Trump, has been leading the United States. 'Under 47's leadership, the US has lost its standing,' he wrote. 'Loyalists will never be stronger than Patriots, and Patriots are in the majority here in the USA. Our Patriots will take to the streets to peacefully demonstrate. There will be a moment of truth in our country and we will show the world who we really are. The USA will again be the leader of the Free World.' In June, Young and his new band, the chrome hearts, will kick off the UK/European leg of their 'love earth world tour,' followed by a North American run beginning in August. Vance claims Ukraine protesters scared his child. They claim he's lying: Here's what we know
JD Vance and his three-year-old daughter Mirabel were out walking in his home state of Ohio when they came into contact with pro-Ukraine protests. He claims the demonstrators made his toddler 'anxious and scared'. They claim 'everything he said was a lie'. Here's what we know about the vice-president's Cincinnati run-in. Footage of the encounter shows the vice-president pushing his three-year-old in a pram and calmly engaging with protesters, who accused him of 'selling out' Ukraine and having 'no integrity'. 'Today while walking my three-year-old daughter a group of 'Slava Ukraini' (glory to Ukraine) protesters followed us around and shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious and scared,' Mr Vance said after the altercation. He continued: 'It was a mostly respectful conversation, but if you're chasing a three-year-old as part of a political protest, you're a s—t person.' Critics accused Mr Vance of misrepresenting the protesters and others questioned how the secret service allowed them to get within yards of the vice-president. 'I saw Mr Vance's tweet and I was furious,' said Ann Henry, 61, who, along with her daughter, was part of the group who confronted the vice-president. If the group had posed a threat to the vice-president's young child, she said: 'The secret service would have tackled us to the ground.' A security source told The Telegraph: 'To the extent that we can, we don't suspend your rights to freedom of expression as an American because you happen to come up in proximity to the protectee,' they said. Bobby McDonald, a former secret service agent who served in then vice-president Joe Biden's security detail, said that it was Mr Vance's decision to engage with the protesters and that 'he makes the decision when it's time to go'. Ms Henry said she decided to attend a demonstration near Mr Vance's home in the Walnut Hills neighborhood of Cincinnati to protest against the administration's actions in Ukraine after a heated meeting between Mr Vance, Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, in the Oval Office. The interior designer and her 26-year-old daughter planned to assemble with a group of around 20 friends before launching the protest. However at around 2.30pm when walking towards the site of the protest, they spotted a slow-moving motorcade following Mr Vance, who was pushing his daughter Mirabel in a pram. They followed the motorcade chanting slogans including 'protect Ukraine' as they marched. As they approached a massage parlour, one of the protesters allegedly shouted 'Slava Ukraini' towards Mr Vance, prompting the vice-president to turn around and walk towards the group. 'This was in no way us chasing him,' Ms Henry said. 'We were not threatening.' Footage of the meeting taken by her daughter, Madeleine Sykes, shows Mr Vance in a red coat and green cap talking to the protesters while holding the pram. 🚨BREAKING: Here's video of VP JD Vance calmly speaking with Ukraine protesters who scared his 3 year old daughter. "Today while walking my 3 year old daughter a group of "Slava Ukraini" protesters followed us around & shouted as my daughter grew increasingly anxious & scared," — Derrick Evans (@DerrickEvans4WV) March 9, 2025 He was flanked by three secret service agents, one of whom was handling a German shepherd. As Mr Vance calmly attempted to explain his concerns about Ukrainian manpower problems and reliance on US support, he was heckled by protesters shouting: 'People are dying.' Tensions escalated when one protester told the vice-president he had 'no integrity' for changing his views on Mr Trump. Mr Vance responded by raising the presence of his young daughter, saying: 'Ma'am, look at my three-year-old daughter now. I told you I'd talked to you for five minutes.' When a protester interjected by saying: 'You signed up for this job, that's what I agreed to,' Mr Vance replied that he did not agree to have people 'yell' at his child. 'I said if I talk to you for a few minutes, will you leave my three-year-old daughter alone and you said yes, so I'd like you guys to respect that,' he said. 'She can't have been scared' According to Ms Henry, during their conversation with the vice-president, a motorcade of six black SUVs was parked just 15ft away, ensuring he and his daughter remained safe. Ms Henry claimed Mirabel 'was asleep the whole time, so she can't have been scared'. Mr McDonald, now a lecturer of criminal justice at the University of New Haven, said that the secret service 'don't remove protesters' and 'only react if there is deemed a physical threat to our protectees'. Mr McDonald explained that when the vice-president is on an 'off-the-record movement', such as on vacation, the security shift surrounding him becomes flexible, meaning his motorcade trails behind, allowing Mr Vance to roam as he pleases. 'The vice-president decided to stay there for a little bit,' he said. 'He could have easily said: 'Hey, let's go to the cars and get out of here.' He chose to stay until a certain point. A security source added: '[Mr Vance's] full detail was with him and at no point was he in any jeopardy.' Turns out Vance is lying again! The peaceful protesters were nowhere near his house and the entrance was blocked by police. Your only goal, POS, is to incite hatred against Ukrainians. — 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐊𝐎𝐌𝐒𝐀 | 🇪🇺🇫🇷🇵🇱🇺🇦 (@tweet4Anna_NAFO) March 9, 2025 Diane Varga, 40, attended the Cincinnati protest to support her extended family who live in Ukraine. The married mother-of-two said she would 'never be okay with someone trying to scare a three-year-old' but said the focus should be on the children of Ukraine. She said: 'How scared are they right now, and how scared have they been for the past three years?'
