'A thriller of a series': Adrian Dunbar returns as Slow Horses-esque detective for Ridley season 2
After bursting onto our screens three years ago, ITV has finally confirmed Adrian Dunbar's Ridley will be returning for a second season, and it's just weeks away.
Created by Vera writer Paul Matthew Thompson and Jonathan Fisher, the series stars Line of Duty's Adrian Dunbar as a Slow Horses-esque former detective inspector, Alex Ridley, who is brought back out of retirement to help with a new case. He quit the force early after the devastating death of both his wife and daughter, who died in an arson attack, and is still coming to terms with his grief.
The series had everyone hooked three years ago, and was ITV's fourth biggest drama in 2022, and now we can get stuck back into it, as the full season two is expected to drop onto ITV. Ready to watch? Here's everything you need to know about Ridley season two.
The new season of Ridley will once again see us return to the North of England to watch Alex Ridley help out on cases alongside DI Carol Farman.
Between them the pair will face crimes such as a jewellery heist which then leads to a string of violent crimes. As the thieves leave with the jewels, a bystander is attacked and killed, after seeing crucial information about of the robbery.
Another episode will see DIs Ridley and Farman investigate a death at a rave, and the disappearance of a mother and daughter.
The season will have once again have four two-hour long episodes.
It wouldn't be Ridley without him, so of course Adrian Dunbar is returning for another season of ITV's hit show.
