MJPD makes multiple arrests in separate incidents
Several arrests were made by Mt. Juliet Police between Monday and Tuesday in separate incidents. On Monday, MJPD conducted a traffic stop outside of the Academy Sports + Outdoors store. Officers discovered both occupants were being sought after for recent criminal activity. The vehicle, matching a description from a shoplifting case on Sunday, had an expired temporary license tag and was engaging in 'suspicious behavior,' according to police. The driver, a 50-year-old Hendersonville woman, was the suspect from the Sunday shoplifting case and allegedly shoplifted a pair of shoes on Monday. Her identity has not been released. The passenger, Brandi Menard, 34, of Hermitage, was wanted in Wilson County for a probation violation related to drug possession. Also on Monday, MJPD spotted a vehicle parked at the Mapco near Interstate 40. According to police, there was an issue with the license plate, leading to the officer becoming suspicious. The officer discovered the occupant was wanted in Davidson and Wilson counties for child abuse and failure to appear, respectively. After verifying her identity, Alexandria Askew, 32, of Nashville, was arrested on the failure to appear charge. Monday evening, a man was arrested on charges following a traffic stop by MJPD officers. The stop was initiated after the officer observed the vehicle failing to maintain its lane. The driver, identified as Eric Kwiatkowski, 54, of Hermitage, was wanted out of Nashville. He was arrested and charged with Delivery of a Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felon in Possession of a Handgun, Possession of a Firearm by a Dangerous Felon and Possession with Intent to Sell Schedule I and II Controlled Substances. On Tuesday, officers pulled a vehicle over for violating the Slow Poke Law, where the driver is driving 'too slow' in the far-left lane of the interstate. In addition, the vehicle was unregistered, according to police. After calling in a check on the VIN, officers discovered the vehicle was reported stolen in January from Dickson County. The driver, Joseph Taylor, 31, of Nunnely, was arrested for possessing the stolen vehicle and driving on a revoked driver's license. Also on Tuesday, officers observed a vehicle 'driving recklessly' on Providence Marketplace and allegedly 'flying through' stop signs. After stopping the vehicle, police found evidence the driver had allegedly just shoplifted from TJ Maxx and HomeGoods. She was also wanted out of Rutherford County for failure to appear on drug charges. The driver, Jamie Johnson, 44, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and psilocybin mushrooms, in addition to theft charges.

Interstate traffic stops lead to drug charges
Mt. Juliet Police arrested several individuals Wednesday on drug charges and one on probation violation. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle speeding on Interstate 40, and discovered the driver, Chiquita Thornton, 43, of Nashville was wanted in Wilson County for probation violation related to joyriding. The passenger, Christopher Gates, 22, of Nashville was found in possession of a handgun and drugs. Police say they found ecstasy and cocaine, which they believe was intended for resale. 'Ironically, they were on their way to bond a family member out of jail for burglary,' MJPD said. In a separate traffic stop on a vehicle for violating the Slow Poke Law, or driving too slow in the far left lane, police found more than one pound of suspected methamphetamine hidden under a seat and on a passenger. Robert McCray, 41, of Knoxville was arrested for possession of meth with intent to sell. He also was given an additional charge of bringing contraband into jail. Another occupant, Kenneisha Carter-Hudson, 36, also of Knoxville, was charged with conspiracy to sell meth.

‘Slow Poke' traffic stop in Mt. Juliet uncovers meth hidden under seat
MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man and woman from Knoxville are facing drug charges after a traffic stop led officers to discover meth hidden in their vehicle. The Mt. Juliet Police Department said they pulled a vehicle over Wednesday afternoon after officers observed it driving too slow in the far-left lane on I-40 East, which violates the 'Slow Poke Law.' 2 on their way to bail relative out of jail found with drugs, gun in vehicle The occupants in the vehicle were reportedly headed back to Knoxville after taking a trip to Nashville. At some point during the stop, an officer discovered over a pound of meth hidden under a seat and on the male passenger. Police said the man—only identified as a 41-year-old from Knoxville—was arrested for possessing meth with intent to resell. WCSO: Trio arrested for trafficking fentanyl on Interstate 26
JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — A man and two women were charged on Wednesday after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of several drug violations, according to a release from the Washington County Tennessee Sheriff's Office (WCSO). WCSO deputies with the Sheriff's Strike Team deployed K9 Murphy to perform an open-air sniff after a traffic stop on Interstate 26 on Tuesday. K9 Murphy alerted on the vehicle containing the following, according to Sheriff Keith Sexton: 3.6 grams of crack cocaine 8 grams of fentanyl 35 grams of methamphetamine $706 in cash approximately 100 baggies a scale commonly used for selling narcotics Nicolas James Plemmons, 25, of Wellford, SC, was charged with two counts of Schedule II Drug Violations, Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia, Identity Theft and Slow Poke Law. Stacy Marie Plemmons, 49, of Candler, NC, was charged with Manufacture/Delivery/Sell/Possession of Methamphetamine, two counts of Schedule II Drug Violations and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia. Autumn Dixon, 25, of Marion, VA, was charged with two counts of Schedule II Drug Violations and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia. The release said Nicholas Plemmons was driving the vehicle that was stopped. Nicholas reportedly gave his brother's name to deputies for identification. He allegedly had multiple baggies protruding from his front pants pocket containing marijuana and fentanyl. The trio was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
