Gumla admin hosts badminton to curb drugs
Gumla: The district administration on Saturday hosted a badminton tournament, Smashathon-25, at the indoor stadium to commemorate World Badminton Day and generate awareness among the youths to stay away from drugs.
Inaugurating the tournament, deputy commissioner (DC) Prerna Dixit said, "The tournament is an important initiative to make the district free of drug abuse. The youth are being associated with sports. In coming days, we will host tournaments of various other sports to create a constructive platform for the district's youth."
It featured teams under the U-13, U-17, men's and women's, police personnel and district officials categories.
