Fintech Wise opens office in Hyderabad
London Stock Exchange listed Fintech and Payment Solutions provider Wise has opened a full stack office in Hyderabad that will build products and features for India as well as contribute to the company's global roadmap. Interacting with the media on Tuesday, members of the APAC leadership of Wise said that 70 people across engineering, operations, and HR functions, have been onboarded for the office in Hyderabad, a number that is expected to increase to a few hundreds in the coming years. Smrithi Ravi, APAC Head of Engineering at Wise, who has relocated from the Singapore office, will lead the new office here. Wise said India has long been a key growth market for the company. It first began inward remittances for India's diaspora in 2013, before launching lightning fast transfers from the country in 2021. It had recently launched its international account details feature for Indian businesses and freelancers, enabling them to get paid in eight global currencies without relying on traditional, expensive wire transfers. 'The caliber of tech and operations professionals we have met is exceptional, reinforcing why Hyderabad is the perfect place for us to build our hub,' said Richa Dirani, APAC Head of Talent.

Wise sets up full-stack centre in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: UK-based money transfer player Wise, formerly known as TransferWise, has set up its new full-stack development facility in Hyderabad. The company has already onboarded around 70 employees across engineering, operations, and people functions and is looking to ramp this up by a few hundred employees. The local team will play a key role in Wise's mission to become the network for moving and managing the world's money, building products and features for India, as well as contributing to the company's global roadmap, it said. Wise also announced that its APAC head of engineering, Smrithi Ravi will now be helming the full-stack office in Hyderabad. Richa Dirani, head of talent for APAC at Wise, said the company began hiring a couple of months ago and already grew to about 70 people and will continue to grow over the next couple of years. Hyderabad: Global fintech company Wise, known for revolutionising cross-border money movement and management, marked a significant milestone with the official opening of its new full-stack office in Hyderabad. The occasion was celebrated with a visit from the company's Asia-Pacific (APAC) leadership team, underscoring the strategic importance of India in Wise's global growth roadmap. Since initiating hiring in April, the Hyderabad office has rapidly scaled to a 70-member team, spanning engineering, operations, and people functions. Leading the charge is Smrithi Ravi, Wise's APAC Head of Engineering, who recently relocated from the company's Singapore hub. With over six years at Wise, Smrithi Ravi has played a key role in expanding the company's product offerings across the region. Wise is planning to continue hiring hundreds more in Hyderabad over the coming years, targeting roles in product, engineering, and operations. The Hyderabad team is expected to contribute to both India-focused innovations and Wise's broader international roadmap. 'Everything we build at Wise starts with customer needs,' said Ravi. 'Our time in Hyderabad this week allowed us to speak directly with customers and gather insights to help shape the future of global money movement. We're excited to bring these ideas to life with our growing team here.' India has long been central to Wise's operations. The company began serving the Indian diaspora in 2013 by enabling inward remittances and launched fast international transfers from India in 2021. Most recently, it introduced international account details for Indian businesses and freelancers, allowing them to receive payments in eight foreign currencies without relying on costly wire transfers. Wise is one of the world's fastest-growing, profitable fintech companies.
