Poco M7 Plus coming? Flipkart teases new Poco device, expected to feature Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 SoC
Smartphone brand Poco appears set to introduce a new budget smartphone in India, with teasers now live on the company's official website and Flipkart. While the brand has yet to confirm the device's name or launch date, a leak points towards the upcoming model being the Poco M7 Plus. According to a report from 91Mobiles Hindi, the handset is expected to debut on 13 August, with a price tag likely to be under ₹ 15,000. Citing internal sources, the report suggests the device will offer several upgrades over the Poco M6 Plus, which launched in August last year. It is noteworthy that the teaser image on the e-commerce platform and Poco's site reveals the phone's rear panel, showing a dual-camera setup and a black finish. A promotional tagline, 'Power for All', hints at a focus on battery life, and leaks back this up, the Poco M7 Plus is rumoured to come with a 7,000mAh battery and 33W fast charging support. In terms of display, the phone is expected to feature a 6.9-inch screen with a 144Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it may be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor. For optics, the rear camera setup is said to include a 50MP primary sensor, while the front may house an 8MP selfie shooter. If accurate, these specifications would mark a modest upgrade from the Poco M6 Plus, which featured the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE chipset, a 6.79-inch full-HD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate, and a 5,030mAh battery. The M6 Plus also came with a 108MP main camera and 13MP front sensor. No official confirmation has yet been provided by the smartphone brand regarding the name, full specifications, or price of the new device. However, more details are likely to emerge in the coming days as the launch date approaches.

Xiaomi announces Redmi 15 5G with 7,000mAh battery, India launch set for August 19
Xiaomi has announced its next budget Redmi phone for India. It is called the Redmi 15 5G (not Redmi 14, as you'd probably think) and it is sequel to the Redmi 13 from last year. The phone in question packs a bunch of quality-of-life upgrades over its predecessor including a super-massive 7,000mAh battery and Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chip. Xiaomi will formally launch the phone on August 19. The product listing page for the Redmi 15 5G confirms almost all its specs ahead of launch leaving little to the imagination. Easily the biggest draw is that it features a large 7,000mAh battery. It is based on Silicon-Carbon technology. Xiaomi is going so far as to say that both these features are a segment-first without giving away any pricing information. You can expect it to be priced around Rs 15,000 however looking at the launch price of the Redmi 13 – but we'll see. The battery is rated to deliver 12.75 hours of BGMI and 23.5 hours of YouTube playback. Without mentioning the exact charging speed, Xiaomi has also announced that the Redmi 15 5G supports 18W reverse charging which is to say that you can use it as a portable power bank to charge other devices. Xiaomi is also claiming that the Redmi 15 5G is the 'slimmest' 7,000mAh battery smartphone. The design has been fully revealed at the same time. It is a stark departure from the Redmi 13 with the biggest changing coming by way of a revamped camera deco which is apparently made of aerospace-grade metal. The rest of the phone appears to be made of polycarbonate. It is set to arrive in a choice of three colours: midnight black, frosted black, and sandy purple. Flip over to the front and you'll find a tall 6.9-inch display with whopping 144Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi says it is the segment's most eye-safe display. Under the hood, the Redmi 15 5G has Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor and Xiaomi Hyper OS 2.0 software. Rounding off the package is a 50-megapixel dual AI camera. The Redmi 15 5G announcement comes hot on the heels of Xiaomi launching the Redmi Note 14 SE 5G in India. The Redmi Note 14 SE is essentially a Redmi Note 14 without a charger in the box which is to say that it is also cheaper with the 6GB/128GB model priced at Rs 14,999.- Ends advertisement

Redmi 15 5G specs leak: 6.9" 144Hz display, huge battery and a surprising chipset
We've been seeing leaks for a 4G-connected Redmi 15C over the last couple of weeks. Now info on a 5G model has surfaced with better than expected specs. The Redmi 15 5G is said to feature a 6.9' 1080p+ 144Hz display. Previous Redmi models commonly had 720p+ resolution, so this is a welcome upgrade. The high refresh rate is the cherry on top (usually, we see 120Hz). There's more – the phone will allegedly be powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3. That too is higher than normal as the Redmi number series typically uses Snapdragon 4-series chips for its 5G models (e.g. Redmi 13 5G and Redmi 14C 5G featured Snapdragon 4 Gen 2). It's a 6nm chip, so it's nothing too advanced, but it's still a class above the usual silicon we see in these phones. The chipset will be paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB storage. The phone will launch with the tagline 'One Charge. Two days. Zero Worries.' and it justifies that with a massive 7,000mAh battery. Only two Xiaomi phones have a higher capacity – the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro and Redmi K80 Ultra, both of which are high-end models. The charge speed is on the low side at just 33W. That's going to take a while to fill all 7,000mAh, but at least you'll only have to do it once every couple of days. The leak reveals additional detail, like a 50MP main camera joined only by a 2MP helper on the back, plus a fairly basic 8MP selfie camera. On the plus side, NFC is supported, which isn't always the case in some markets. Redmi 15 5G leaked specs Speaking of, the price is given as 'RM 699-RM 750', which reveals that this info comes from Malaysia. The price converts to $165-$180, by the way. For now, there is no information on when Xiaomi will unveil the Redmi 15 5G. Given all the leaks, we think that the Redmi 15C 4G is just around the corner, but these could have separate launches.
