Justin Bieber Posted An Emotional Message About Feeling Like A "Fraud," And It's Honestly Relatable

It's undeniable Justin Bieber is a generational talent. Lately, his music star power's been overshadowed by speculation surrounding his health, behavior, and relationship with his wife, Hailey Bieber. After they tied the knot in 2018, Justin and Hailey have constantly dodged divorce rumors and fans reading into family social media posts. Earlier this year, Justin was even forced to address fans who noticed that his Instagram account had unfollowed Hailey's. "Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife. Shit is getting suss out here," he wrote on his IG story. On Feb. 20, Justin posted a lengthy message about maturing on his IG story set to "Free Fallin'" by John Mayer. "Its time to grow up," he wrote. "Changing is about letting go! Not trying harder! Are you tired of trying to follow all of the rules in hopes to get the results you crave? I've found love to be more powerful than rules." Justin continued, "I'm not good at it. But u dont need to follow rules to enter into a life of love. U just receive so enter love living! God always grants us love! Its one of his promises! Upon receiving Gods love! U start to change and start following love." "You don't work to mature! You let go to mature! Today im letting go and remembering the weight isnt on me to change. The weight is on God," he wrote. "So I give all my insecurities and my fears to him this morning. Because I know he gladly takes it. Asking Jesus to genuinely help me with simply the next step today." In the same month, Justin faced accusations of drug use and speculation of fatigue based on his appearance, which prompted his representative to speak up. While the "Love Yourself" singer hasn't publicly addressed the rumors, a rep told TMZ that the past year has been "very transformative for him as he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him" and that "narrative he's using hard drugs is not true." On the contrary, that rep adding that he's spending a lot of time working on new music and caring for his wife and their son, Jack Blues Bieber, born in 2024. On March 13, Justin posted another lengthy IG post, discussing how he feels "unequipped and unqualified," this time set to the instrumental song "Sneaky Sneaky" by Gold-Tiger. "People told me my whole life 'wow Justin u deserve that.'" "I personally have always felt unworthy," he wrote. "Like I was a fraud. Like when people told me I deserve something. It made me feel sneaky like. Damn if they only knew my thoughts. How judgemental I am, how selfish I really am. They wouldn't be saying this." Katelyn Mulcahy / Getty Images "I say all this to say," Justin continued, "If you feel sneaky welcome to the club. I definitely feel unequipped and unqualified most days." As someone riddled with constant guilt for my wins, big or small, and sometimes feeling "unequipped and unqualified," especially in this political climate — Justin's words really hit home. While Justin's been faced with constant rumors, the two-time Grammy-winning singer, who's been in the spotlight since he was fifteen, isn't letting negativity shape the narrative. Instead, he's using his social media to address his feelings, whether maturity, imposter syndrome, or love for his family.

In a candid Instagram Story post, the musician opened up about feeling 'unqualified and unequipped most days.' 'People told me my whole life 'wow Justin u deserve that' and I personally have always felt unworthy. Like I was a fraud,' Bieber wrote. 'Like when people told me I deserve something. It made me feel sneaky like damn if only they knew my thoughts. How judgemental I am, how selfish I really am. They wouldn't be saying this.' If you feel sneaky welcome to the club. I definitely feel unequipped and unqualified most days.' The post follows weeks of speculation and concerns from fans about Bieber's well-being. In February, representatives for both Bieber and his wife, Hailey Bieber, called comments on his mental and physical health 'exhausting and pitiful and shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.' The pair welcomed their first child, Jack Blues Bieber, in 2024. The statement noted that Bieber recently 'ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him' and has been working on new music. His most recent album, Justice, arrived in March 2021. Last year, revealed he had been in the studio with Bieber. 'He's searching,' the singer-songwriter said. 'Anything that comes out of his mouth: That's pop music. You can really do pretty wild stuff behind that, just because it represents something.' Bieber's recent statement builds on concerns he previously expressed about his complicated relationship with success and his career. 'There's all these opinions. And in this industry, you've got people that unfortunately prey on people's insecurities and use that to their benefit. And so when that happens, obviously that makes you angry,' he told GQ in 2021. 'And then you're this young angry person who had these big dreams, and then the world just jades you and makes you into this person that you don't want to be. And then you wake up one day and your relationships are fucked up and you're unhappy and you have all this success in the world, but you're just like: Well, what is this worth if I'm still feeling empty inside?'
