Bank customers given option to undo payments in 'industry first'

If you ever get buyers' remorse after paying for things like a gigantic Snorlax, TukTuk, or even a bus, help is at hand. Monzo Bank have introduced an 'undo payment' feature which they claim is an industry first. It means that if you send a payment and immediately have second thoughts, there's a way back from the precipice. The feature could be helpful if someone sends money to the wrong person, types in the wrong number of zeros, or at the last minute realises they have been scammed. You'll have to be quick if you want to use the feature, though, as it will only work for up to 60 seconds after the payment is sent. The Undo Payments feature will begin rolling out to the 12 million Monzo customers from today and will be a 'comfort blanket' giving users peace of mind with their transfers, the bank said. After making a bank transfer, customers will see a timer appear on the payment confirmation screen with an option to undo the payment (the default time is 15 seconds). The customer can tap the 'Undo Payment' button there, or from the Home screen or payment detail screen, before the timer runs out. As soon as the user hits that button, Monzo stops the payment from being sent. The money never leaves the account, and the person or business won't even know that the money was almost sent to them. Customers can configure the Undo Payments timer, choosing between the following lengths of time to undo a payment, or turn it off all together: 10 seconds 15 seconds (default) 30 seconds 60 seconds They shared their research carried out by Censuswide showing that almost one in three Brits (30%) have either sent money to the wrong person or sent the wrong amount in the last year. The data which studied of 2001 representative Brits highlighted that over three quarters of those who sent a wrong payment (78%) realised they'd made an error within a minute of it happening. This is a major issue: the bank says that over £825m was sent by mistake in the past year. Over two thirds of Brits (68%) who this affected claim a simple typing error, such as adding a zero, was the reason for sending a wrong payment. But trying to retrieve mistakenly sent payments from any bank is usually a long process, with no guarantee of success. The new 'undo payment' feature offers a customisable 10-60-second window that allows customers to cancel a bank transfer. In terms of how it works, it's really more of 'delayed payment' option, as the payment is not actually made to anyone else's account until the buffer time runs out. More Trending In recent years, the options for editing things once they have been sent have become more widespread. It is now possible to edit WhatsApp messages, iMessages and tweets within a certain time frame, whereas in the past you just had to live with the annoying typos. Andy Sacre, head of payments at Monzo, said: 'We know it's important to be able to send money quickly and easily – but we also know that mistakes can happen, whether that's sending the wrong amount to someone or paying the wrong person. 'In another industry-first, we're bringing the best of banking and technology together to solve that problem for our customers, with this simple yet powerful feature that ensures they can send money with Monzo more confidently and safely than ever before.' Pokemon Sleep's sleep-promoting eats step into the real world with Japanese nutritionist recipes

By Casey Baseel, SoraNews24 The title of "Pokemon Sleep" is simultaneously highly accurate and slightly misleading. Part video game and part wellness app, "Pokemon Sleep" wants to promote healthy sleep habits, which is why players are given a Snorlax, the sleepiest Pokemon species to take care of. But even Snorlax doesn't sleep for 24 hours a day, and during its waking moments it makes friends with other Pocket Monsters and eats meals that you prepare for it. Now there's a way to bring the dishes of "Pokemon Sleep" to your own real-world table, thanks to a partnership between the game, the makers of Japanese nutrition planning app Asken, and the University of Tsukuba. Research conducted by the group determined that insufficient intakes of protein, carbohydrates, and fiber can all negatively impact your quality of sleep, and so they've developed real-world recipes for dishes from "Pokemon Sleep" to give you the balanced diet necessary for a good night's sleep. Four in-game dishes were selected, starting with the above-pictured Dream Eater Butter Curry. To make the rice, you'll need… ● Rice: 180 milliliters ● Turmeric powder: 1/2 teaspoon ● Salted butter : 10 grams …and to make the roux and toppings the ingredients are… ● Skinless chicken thigh: 180 grams chopped into bite-sized pieces ● Yogurt: 100 grams ● Grated ginger: 1 teaspoon ● Grated garlic: 1/2 teaspoon ● Curry powder: 2 tablespoons ● Onion: 100 grams, minced ● Carrots: 40 grams, chopped ● Potatoes: 150 grams, chopped ● Salted butter: 15 grams ● Milk: 4 tablespoons ● 2 pieces of dark chocolate (6 grams), one piece to be minced as decoration ● Boiled sliced canned tomatoes: 400 grams ● Water: 50 milliliters ● Chicken soup stock: 1 teaspoon ● Salt: 1/2 teaspoon ● Pepper: A small amount ● Milk: 1 teaspoon ● Baby leaf: 10 grams ● Cherry tomato: 1/4 slice Those amounts are enough for two servings, and once you've got them all assembled, here's what you need to do: 1. Soak the rice, then add the turmeric and butter and cook them together in a rice cooker. 2. Place the chicken ginger, garlic, and curry powder in a plastic bag and let sit for 20 minutes. 3. Put 15 grams of butter in a pot and heat with a medium flame, then add the onions and cook until tender. Add the carrots and potatoes and cook until they are completely coated with oil. 4. Mix the tomatoes, water, chicken stock, salt, and pepper into the pot. Once the mixture comes to a boil cover and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Turn off heat and add dark chocolate, stirring until it melts in. Cook again on low heat for roughly 20 minutes to reduce amount of liquid. Stir in 4 tablespoons milk. 5. Place finished turmeric rice and curry on plate. Artfully add baby leaf, cherry tomato, milk, and dark chocolate. In addition to being rich in sleep-promoting protein and carbohydrates, Asken says the Dream Eater Butter Curry's tomatoes serve as a source of potassium which helps with sodium excretion, adding another healthy aspect to the meal. Sharon Osbourne urges feds to yank Kneecap's US visas following anti-Israel Coachella set

Sharon Osbourne urged the feds to yank the US visas of an Irish rap group that launched into an anti-Israel tirade on the Coachella stage Saturday before a backdrop reading 'F–k Israel Free Palestine.' The British TV personality, 72, slammed the West Belfast group Kneecap for projecting 'hate speech' and supporting 'terrorist organizations' at the popular Southern California music festival – where the former 'X Factor' judge said 'aggressive' political rhetoric doesn't belong. 'Kneecap, an Irish rap group, took their performance to a different level by incorporating aggressive political statements,' Osbourne said in a long rant posted Tuesday to X, where she cited music as a source of unification and 'an escape' during a time of 'significant unrest.' Snorlax / MEGA 'Their actions included projections of anti-Israel messages and hate speech, and this band openly support terrorist organizations. This behavior raises concerns about the appropriateness of their participation in such a festival and further shows they are booked to play in the USA,' Osbourne, the wife of rocker Ozzy Osbourne, continued. 'I urge you to join me in advocating for the revocation of Kneecap's work visa.' Advertisement During their set, Kneecap – which openly supported the 'Palestinian struggle' a day after Hamas' Oct. 7, 2023 invasion of Israel that killed about 1,200 people, including 364 who were slaughtered at the Nova music festival – performed in front of a backdrop that read, 'F–k Israel Free Palestine.' 5 'They're bombing them from the skies. If you're not calling it a genocide, what the f–k are you calling it?' band member Mo Chara said to raucous cheers. Getty Images for Coachella The band, which also supported a book celebrating Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, led 'Free, free Palestine' chants as band member Mo Chara sported a keffiyeh scarf – a symbol of Palestinian identity. 'They're bombing them from the skies. If you're not calling it genocide, what the f–k are you calling it?' Mo Chara said to raucous cheers, while a screen behind the band read, 'The US government arms and funds Israel despite their war crimes.' X/KNEECAP While Nova survivors voiced their outrage, grief and devastation to The Post over the hateful outburst, Osbourne also blasted festival organizer, Goldenvoice, for allowing Kneecap to perform a week after the band led anti-Margaret Thatcher chants on stage during the festival's first weekend. The band's live-stream was reportedly cut when they initiated the crowd in their political jeering's. 'Reports indicate that Goldenvoice was unaware of Kneecap's political intentions when they were booked,' Osbourne said. Advertisement 5 Osbourne called for the band's visas to be revoked following their controversial performance Saturday. X/KNEECAP 'However, after witnessing their performance during the first weekend, allowing them to perform again the following weekend suggests support of their rhetoric and a lack of due diligence.' Watchdog groups previously told The Post they tried to warn Coachella owners from platforming the problematic pro-terror band – who reportedly call themselves 'republican hoods' and waved a yellow Hezbollah flag on stage during a November 2024 London concert. 5 The pro-terror group came up in support for Palestine after Hamas' Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel. Getty Images Osbourne also slapped back at claims Goldenvoice was 'blindsided' by Kneecap's performance. 'I know for a fact that certain people in the industry had written to Goldenvoice, airing their concerns around the booking of Kneecap,' Osbourne alleged in her X post. 'Coachella 2025 will be remembered as a festival that compromised its moral and spiritual integrity. Goldenvoice, the festival organized, facilitated this by allowing artists to use the Coachella stage as a platform for political expression.' Reps for Kneecap and Goldenvoice did not immediately respond to The Post's request for comment.
