Kaiser Chiefs to play LiveHouse Dundee next year

British rock band Kaiser Chiefs are the latest major act coming to Dundee's LiveHouse. The band announced the show today, as part of their latest UK tour. Lead singer Rick Wilson and fellow founder members Andrew White and Nick Baines will be joined on stage by Vijay Mistry for the gig on Tuesday, February 17 2026. The Leeds band are currently on the final leg of their summer festival shows, finishing up next week in Ireland and they'll be resting up for a couple of months before heading off to Mexico then Australia in November. They've spent 2025 promoting the 20th anniversary of their debut album Employment, which made the band a household name. Singer Ricky Wilson said in a statement: 'This summer, we played a load of shows to mark the release of our debut album that was called Employment. 'It went well, probably better than our first summer 20 years ago. 'It was the year after that things really took off… So we hope you will join us in February to help celebrate with us 'the year it really took off'. 'If you were with us the first time, or unfortunately missed out due to other commitments etc. we hope you will join us for a joyous lap of honour.' It's another coup for LiveHouse, following hot on the heels of this month's announcement that Doves are to perform all the songs from their new album greatest hits album So Here We Are on Friday, December 12. It also follows previous announcements of shows by Idlewild, who play the venue on December 6, while fellow Scottish rockers Franz Ferdinand have been announced for a week after the Kaiser Chiefs show, on February 24, 2026. LiveHouse boss Gus Robb said: 'It's another big gig for LiveHouse, we're very pleased to have attracted Kaiser Chiefs to Dundee. 'And there's lots more to come. From a standing start just over a year ago we've got international conferences and a few big shows, and we're just scratching the surface. 'It proves that Dundee will be a great place for live music again and big bands are happy to come.' Tickets for the show go on sale to the public next Friday at 9am through See Tickets and Gigs in Scotland.
