Former Chiefs star back in the ‘classroom'
SEBOKENG.- Former Kaizer Chiefs star, Abia Nale, is back in the classroom in an attempt to empower himself off the field.
Nale is currently studying an online Soccer Training Load Management course in an effort to improve his knowledge and share it with youngsters. He was hard at work at Shakespeare Stadium in Vanderbijlpark doing some practical's with the local youngsters on Wednesday.
Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, Nale said some of the things that this Soccer Training Load Management course includes is monitoring players' fitness, injuries, mental health, and physical training and preparing them (players) for the games. Nale said this online course is important and he encourages other former professional soccer players to do it.
He believes that former professional soccer players have a huge role to play in the development of football in South Africa. The youngsters who attended this practical training enjoyed each and every moment with this former Chiefs midfield-striker.
'I decided to do this online Soccer Training Load Management course to empower myself and share this with the youngsters. I must say, I really enjoy doing something different. I enjoyed working with them and it is something that I want to do permanently, sharing my knowledge with them. I want to thank the local development coaches who allowed me to come to their training and share my knowledge. I'm looking forward to a long relationship with the local development teams here in the Vaal,' said Nale.
Nale was part of Kaizer Chiefs legends who played friendly games against Orlando Pirates legends on Saturday. Some of the Chiefs legends he played alongside include, Doctor Khumalo, Jabu Mahlangu and Reneilwe Letsholonyane to mention but few.
