The Devil Is A Lie...and Is Also In Eggs: Get Into These Mamas And Their Deviled Eggs
The Devil Is A Is Also In Eggs: Get Into These Mamas And Their Deviled Eggs
Today, we're gonna see three Black contestants step up to the plate and see if they will have their Black card removed or kept intact as we're testing deviled eggs on 'Food Swap.'
Jameen, Stephanie, and Eugenia are in-studio ready to taste each other's deviled eggs and from the looks of it, something tells me these three ladies can throw down.
But, as we've seen in previous episodes, looks can be deceiving.
Stephanie opened up the competition letting our audiences know and reminding them that Black people are innovative, creative, and have the power to turn something simple into something magical.
Now, let's start with Eugenia.
So she serves a taco-styled version of a deviled egg.
Hmm, unique, different, but intrigued.
She has the yolk out, of course, and adds onion, garlic, smoked paprika, mayo, a little bit of mustard, topped with a dorito and french onion.
Now, this is a bold move.
Let's see what the ladies have to say.
Stephanie leads with how 'interesting' it looks, before sharing she doesn't think the yolk has been fully cooked while Jameen says it's 'very different.'
Stephanie kept up her shade, ending her sentiments with calling the submission 'raggedy.'
Oh honey. That was nasty shade (laughs).
They both agreed it's a kid friendly snack (shady boots) but they aren't mad at it.
Final score: 12
Next, we have Miss Shady Queen herself, Stephanie.
You know I always say, the ones with the most mouths, their food tends to go south but let's see what her opponents have to say.
She made her opponents her Sofrito deviled eggs – some dijon mayonnaise, mustard, chopped pickles, onions, and added rosemary for a decorative touch.
Okay, let's see.
Jameen called Stephanie's submission 'fancy' and a holiday vibe while Eugenia doesn't seem phased nor impressed, especially with the rosemary touch Stephanie added.
After their first bites, Jameen tastes the onions but shares how the salt was heavy while Eugenia says the crunch in the egg is 'overpowering' the flavor.
Whew, see what happens when you talk too much.
Anywho, the final score is in.
Final score: 10
Jameen's submission stuck to the original recipe with her deviled eggs having some pickled relish, paprika, mayonnaise, dijon mustard, and salt.
It's a nice, simple traditional deviled egg.
Stephanie is still in her shady bag pre-judging the deviled egg, calling it 'mushy,' while Eugenia said they look 'appetizing.'
First bites are in and Eugenia is rocking with the egg while Stephanie, still grasping at straws with her opinions chile (haha).
Verdict is in and Jameen scored at 11.
Eugenia takes home the gold and it was a close one between her and Jameen.
I'll definitely be going to their cookouts for deviled eggs – Jameen, hit my line girl so I can get one this summer. As for Stephanie, maybe you can make the salad and add some rosemary in it.
Anyways, I'm gonna go find Jameen's number but ya'll go ahead and see the shade of it all in the video below.
