SEC Softball Tournament Predictions

SEC Softball Tournament Predictions SEC Softball has provided several twists and turns this season, the first with Oklahoma and Texas in the league. Though the Oklahoma Sooners won the regular season title, league play revealed that there are a number of teams that could take the tournament title and are legit contenders for the national championship. Oklahoma swept Texas. Florida and Tennessee took series from the Sooners. Tennessee took a series from Texas. Texas A&M took a series from Florida. Texas took two of three from Florida. That's five of the top six teams who have beaten up on each other all season. Throw Arkansas into the mix, who could beat any team in the league, and the SEC tournament is wide open. By winning the regular season SEC championship, the Oklahoma Sooners earned the top seed in the SEC Tournament, which takes place in Athens, Georgia, home of the Bulldogs this week. The tournament will begin on Tuesday and run through Saturday in a single-elimination format. Who's going to win it all? Here are our predictions for the SEC Softball Tournament, the schedule, and broadcast information for this week in Athens. More: Final SEC softball standings after wild regular season Game 1: No. 12 Georgia vs. No. 13 Kentucky When: Tuesday, May 6, 1 p.m. ET Watch: SEC Network Winner: Kentucky Game 2: No. 11 Ole Miss vs. No. 14 Missouri When: Tuesday, May 6, 35 minutes following Game 1 Watch: SEC Network Winner: Ole Miss Game 3: No. 10 Alabama vs. No. 15 Auburn When: Tuesday, May 6, 35 minutes following Game 2 Watch: SEC Network Winner: Alabama Game 4: No. 8 Mississippi State vs. No. 9 LSU When: Wednesday, May 7, 11 a.m. ET Watch: SEC Network Winner: LSU Game 5: No. 5 Arkansas vs. No. 13 Kentucky When: Wednesday, May 7, 35 minutes following Game 4 Watch: SEC Network Winner: Arkansas Game 6: No. 6 Florida vs. No. 11 Ole Miss When: Wednesday, May 7, 35 minutes following Game 5 Watch: SEC Network Winner: Florida Game 7: No. 7 South Carolina vs. No. 10 Alabama When: Wednesday, May 7, 35 minutes following Game 6 Watch: SEC Network Winner: South Carolina Game 8: No. 1 Oklahoma vs. No. 9 LSU When: Thursday, May 8, 11 a.m. ET Watch: SEC Network Winner: Oklahoma Game 9: No. 4 Tennessee vs. No. 5 Arkansas When: Thursday, May 8, 35 minutes following Game 8 Watch: SEC Network Winner: Tennessee Game 10: No. 3 Texas vs. No. 6 Florida When: Thursday, May 8, 35 minutes following Game 9 Watch: SEC Network Winner: Texas Game 11: No. 2 Texas A&M vs. No. 7 South Carolina When: Thursday, May 8, 35 minutes following Game 10 Watch: SEC Network Winner: Texas A&M Game 12: No. 1 Oklahoma vs. No. 4 Tennessee When: Friday, May 9, 4 p.m. ET Watch: ESPN2 Winner: Oklahoma Game 13: No. 3 Texas vs. No. 2 Texas A&M When: Friday, May 9, 35 minutes following Game 12 Watch: ESPN2 Winner: Texas Championship Game: No. 1 Oklahoma vs. No. 3 Texas When: Saturday, May 10, 5 p.m. ET Watch: ESPN Winner: Oklahoma It may be crazy to predict the Oklahoma Sooners to win the SEC tournament given their pitching struggles in Gainesville. But it feels crazier to pick against them. They may not win it all. The SEC is deep and talented. Tennessee, Texas, Florida, Texas A&M, and Arkansas all have the potential to take the tournament title. But Oklahoma has the best coaching staff in softball and a lineup that can score with anyone. If they can get better pitching performances like they got in the Texas series, the Sooners could find themselves hoisting another trophy by the end of the weekend.
