Wisconsin Public Service hosts 29th annual ‘Solar Olympics' in Oshkosh for nearly 200 students
OSHKOSH, Wis. (WFRV) – It's not Winter, nor is it 2026, but the Olympics were on and ready on Wednesday morning in Oshkosh, albeit a much different version of the Games.
Wisconsin Public Service hosted its 29th annual Solar Olympics competition for about 200 students across northeast and north central Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Schools in Neenah host day of activities for students with disabilities
Students from the following high schools participated in the events:
Ashwaubenon High School
Elcho High School
Green Bay West High School
Kiel High School
Marathon High School
Marinette High School
Mishicot High School
Northland Lutheran High School
Pembine High School
St. Thomas Aquinas Academy
Three Lakes High School
Valders High School
Wausau West High School
West De Pere High School
The students competed in 13 different events, each providing a hands-on chance to demonstrate their knowledge of solar energy. Students were awarded in Olympic fashion with either gold, silver or bronze, with the top three medal-winning teams earning recognition.
