Cab driver robbed of cash, phones in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: A driver working with a taxi aggregator was robbed at knifepoint by a miscreant who booked a ride posing as a customer. The incident occurred between 10.50pm and 11.30pm on July 30 near Dalappa Layout off Bagalur.
According to the complaint filed by 45-year-old Somanatha S, a resident of Laggere and native of Hiriyur in Chitradurga, he received a trip request near Nagawara signal. The customer boarded the vehicle after sharing an OTP and wanted to be dropped at Dalappa Layout.
On reaching the destination, when Somanatha asked for the fare of Rs 157, the passenger threatened him with a lethal weapon. He forcibly took Rs 400 in cash from Somanatha and also snatched two mobile phones and a Bluetooth device. He demanded the phone passcode and rummaged through the car's dashboard for valuables.
