'Hard to describe how painful injury was'
Derby County defender Sondre Langas has revealed he was playing through the pain barrier at the back end of last season. The 24-year-old Norway international became a mainstay in John Eustace's side during the second half of the campaign following his January move from Viking. But he will miss the start of the upcoming campaign while he recovers from knee surgery after starting all seven of Derby's final matches of the season as they secured their Championship status. "It was really, really painful - it's hard to tell [describe] how painful," Langas told BBC Radio Derby. "The gaffer was really good and told me I have to be honest with him if something was wrong. Derby closing in on defender Langas
Derby County are closing in on a deal for Viking centre-back Sondre has been reported that the fee for Langas will be around £4m, although sources have told BBC Radio Derby that the rumoured price may not be Norway international played all 90 minutes in 26 of the Norwegian side's 30 Eliteserien games last season and will help to soften the blow if Rams defender Eiran Cashin departs for Derby do sign Langas, he will be the second defender to join their ranks this winter alongside Middlesbrough's Matt Clarke, with the Rams battling for survival in the Championship.
