Meet Vinod Mehra's daughter, whose debut film was super flop, got no lead role in 7 years, quit Bollywood after..., now lives in Dubai, her name is... Late superstar Vinod Mehra's daughter, Soniya Mehra, caught significant attention with her brief appearances in movies like Ek Mai Ek Tu and Ragini MMS 2 . She made her debut in 2007 with Victoria No.203, and also appeared in TV series Shadow. Soon after her last appearance in Ragini MMS 2, Soniya vanished from the limelight and moved to Dubai, now working as Yoga instructor. Recently, in an interview, the actress talked about the break in her acting career and revealed unknown aspects of her personal life. While speaking to Friday magazine, Mehra shared, 'Most people who want to be a part of the film industry are dreamers and artists who have big dreams and ambitions. I had those same desires too, and I tried my hand at it. I'm so grateful to have experienced the industry and am happy to have landed a few projects.' When asked about her biggest learnings as a Bollywood actress, she said, '[I think it's important] to always give your best in everything you do. Even if you don't succeed at least you tried.' Talking about her career as a yoga instructor, Sonia said, 'It was my maternal aunt and my mother who got me interested in yoga, something that has remained with me all my life. It is more of a lifestyle now; it is something I am rather than something I 'do'. I learn more about it every day.' Recently, while speaking to E-Times, Sonia hushed the rumours of her break from Bollywood and stated that she is still very keen to work as an actress. She said, ' I gave it my best but unfortunately I didn't get offers which resonated with me. It's very important to get roles that you get excited about. So yeah, I am very much open to working in films of any language. In fact, I have also been in touch with many good filmmakers in India. It's just that I am not possessed that I must invariably get a lot of work and I should grab it for just the heck of being in the rate race. I want to be satisfied as an artiste rather than just as an actor.' During the same conversation, Soniya revealed that she's engaged with Kunal, a Mumbai-based broker. 'Nobody knows this and I am speaking about Kunal for the first time. We have been together for 7 years and even got engaged about a year and half back. I believe in the institution of marriage. It will be taking our relationship to another level. But personally I don't believe that two people who truly love each other need to necessarily marry. Marriage is a very small part of love. It is not necessary that a man and woman who have been married to each other for 7 years are in love more than Kunal and I who still haven't tied the nuptial knot.' Mehra said. While talking about leaving India and settling in Dubai, Sonia said, 'Well, it's not that I went out of India only recently. I had initially gone to London for some time. Then I got a very good job as a yoga instructor in Dubai, so I decided to park myself here. Yoga has been a very intrinsic part of me, ever since I used it at the age of 13 to cure myself from lower back pain. Slowly but surely I realised that I can use it further to make people's lives better. I mastered it and I am very passionate about it.'

5 lifestyle-based remedies to reverse diabetes naturally
As deadly as diabetes is, it continues to rise at an alarming rate in India, and the spotlight is shifting towards all-natural and sustainable approaches to manage this fatal condition. Now that people are growing interested in lifestyle-based interventions, experts are highlighting the role of everyday habits and simple home remedies that are beneficial in potentially reversing type 2 diabetes. Did you know? According to multiple health reports, approximately 77 million adults in India are currently living with diabetes. In addition to that, around 25 million people fall under the category of prediabetic. A 2023 estimate put the country's number of diabetes cases at 101 million. Shockingly, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that more than half of them are not even aware of having the disease. Social media is significantly helping people find alternatives to heavy medication dosages. One such initiative that is gaining traction on social media is a health awareness series titled #MagicBoard, where certified dietitian Sonia Narang tells the world about five practical strategies for controlling and toning down blood sugar levels. Combining magical and traditional Indian home remedies with nutritional science, her advice is designed for those seeking effective and medicine-free solutions. Ms. Sonia's method focuses on five pillars: fenugreek seed water, onion salad, cold-pressed oils, post-meal walking, and amla-haldi water. Each of which is easy to follow and backed by known metabolic benefits. Let us get into it Fenugreek seed water This is a natural morning regulator. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Over 40 and Struggling With Belly Fat? Try 1 Teaspoon Daily (See Results Fast!) getfittoday Undo Start your day with a glass of this soaked fenugreek seed water. Take a tablespoon of seeds and soak them overnight in water. In the morning, individuals may notice sudden improvements in blood sugar control. Fenugreek contains soluble fiber and compounds that enhance insulin sensitivity and reduce glucose absorption in the intestine. Onion salad Onion salad is a source of power of raw nutrition. Raw onion, which is commonly neglected in contemporary diets, proves to be very important in controlling blood sugar. A mere 100 grams of raw onion is sufficient to lower blood glucose levels within four hours. The sulfur compounds and flavonoids, such as quercetin, enhance the body's insulin response, along with promoting cardiovascular health. Cold-pressed oils Refined oils are also known to make insulin resistance even worse because of their trans fats and high levels of omega-6 fatty acids. Cold-pressed oils, on the other hand, maintain the natural balance of their fatty acids and anti-inflammatory effects. They also reduce LDL (bad) cholesterol and promote heart and metabolic health. Walking 500 steps after meals A 500-step walk after every meal can have a dramatic effect on glucose metabolism. Walking after meals allows muscles to utilize glucose, and it decreases blood sugar spikes. This also reduces the risk of insulin resistance, promotes digestion, and helps manage weight—all critical aspects for diabetes management. Amla-haldi water at night The last tip includes a nightcap of amla (Indian gooseberry) and haldi (turmeric). Amla is a chromium-rich natural source that enhances insulin sensitivity, and turmeric has curcumin, which is anti-inflammatory and lowers glucose. They work together to aid detoxification, balance cholesterol, and enhance glucose metabolism at night. Remember that anything until tried is not tested. As public awareness about diabetes increases, such lifestyle-based strategies may soon become a cornerstone of diabetes management in India. NEET UG: How Is The Topper Decided When Marks Are Tied?
Last Updated: The NTA uses tie-breaker rules when candidates score the same marks in NEET UG to fairly determine the All India Rank (AIR) and identify the topper Lakhs of candidates who appeared for NEET UG 2025 are eagerly awaiting their results, set to be released soon. Before the results are announced, it is important for candidates to understand the tie-breaker criteria, which will play a key role in determining ranks and interpreting scorecards. All updates on NEET UG 2025 results will be available on the official website, The National Examination Agency (NTA) employs a tie-breaking rule when two or more candidates achieve the same marks in the NEET UG exam. This systematic and transparent process facilitates the determination of the All India Rank (AIR) and the identification of the topper. NTA outlines these rules in its official notification annually, clarifying how ties are resolved to decide AIR 1 when candidates have identical scores. Higher marks in Biology: The candidate with higher marks in Biology (Botany + Zoology) will be ranked higher. Maximum marks: 360 (90 questions, each worth 4 marks). Higher marks in Chemistry: If Biology marks are tied, the candidate with higher Chemistry marks takes precedence. Maximum marks: 180 (45 questions, each worth 4 marks). Higher marks in Physics: If marks in Biology and Chemistry are also tied, the candidate with higher Physics marks is ranked higher. Maximum marks: 180 (45 questions, each worth 4 marks). Lower ratio of wrong answers: If marks in all three subjects are equal, the candidate with the fewest wrong answers across all subjects is given preference. In this case, Sonia would be ranked higher due to her higher marks in Biology. If their Biology marks were tied, Chemistry marks would then be considered, followed by Physics marks, and the ratio of wrong/right answers if necessary. Previous Year Tie-Breakers In previous years, there have been notable instances of tie-breaking: In 2021, Mrinal Kutteri (Telangana), Tanmay Gupta (Delhi), and Karthika G Nair (Maharashtra) all scored 720/720. Based on tie-breaking rules, Mrinal Kutteri was awarded AIR 1, likely due to higher marks or fewer wrong answers in Biology or Chemistry. In 2024, 17 candidates scored 720/720. Following tie-breaking and adjustment of one Physics question as directed by the Supreme Court, all 17 candidates were initially given the same rank, but this number was later revised.

Sonia Aggarwal Interview: Films are now deliberately made to create controversies
However, these films have also sparked discussions of whether they have aged well over the years. 'If given a chance, I wouldn't change anything about my characters in these films. If we do so, neither the audience nor I will be able to accept it. Don't you think people today deliberately make controversial films?' she probes. 'At least what we did was raw and real. Maybe it hit hard for certain people. We didn't intend to make it controversial. Today, most people are deliberately making it controversial to gain publicity. It is almost like nobody is interested in a project unless they can create some kind of controversy out of it. Do the makers think that is the only way our audience will look forward to a film?' she elaborates. Sonia points out that the differences in the industry's machinations were more starkly visible when she returned from a five-year sabbatical with Vaanam (2011). When questioned whether the break changed how filmmakers saw her, and the kind of roles that came her way, Sonia says, 'It did change. I would like to be very honest about it. I feel that is how the industry works. If a female actor is getting married and takes a break for a year or two, people should still consider her for leading roles as long as she looks fit. As long as she's performing well, looks good, and is fit, why should her personal life matter? Earlier, marriage often meant the end of lead roles for female actors, and I did face those consequences. But I think things are finally changing.' This also meant Sonia was frequently offered mother roles and had to face ageism in the industry. 'I wanted people to stop asking me to play a mother of a 25-year-old when I was like 30 or 35. However, people continue to call me for these roles. My manager shows them my recent photos and we ask them, 'Do I look old enough to play such a mom?' Let me become that old first!' she exclaims. While Sonia highlights that she is open to working in all genres, her recent films have been horror-thrillers, and she understands that it is important to ride the trends in cinema. 'Once a genre clicks, everyone rushes to make more of the same. As an artist, you don't always have much choice there. There was a time when horror and thrillers were in demand, and naturally, I started getting more scripts in those genres. As long as I am happy with the script and role, I take it up,' she says. Does she sometimes miss playing light-hearted characters? 'I've done all kinds of roles,' says Sonia. 'From playing a physically active character to a naive, innocent girl like Anitha, to bold ones like Selvi. Then came roles like Grandma, horror films like 7/G, and raw and gritty films like Dandupalayam. My only agenda has always been to do something different every time,' she states, underlining that the kind of role and script matter more than working with a well-established production house or a star.

High School Sweethearts in Their 50s Spent $90K to Get Facelifts Together. Now They're Closer Than Ever (Exclusive)
Sonia and Jose started dating when they were teenagers and have now been married for 30 years In September 2024, the Grover Beach, Calif., couple decided to undergo plastic surgery procedures one day apart from each other Healed and feeling more confident, the pair opens up to PEOPLE about their joint nips-and-tucks and the ups and downs of their journeyThe couple that gets plastic surgery together, stays together. Husband and wife Jose and Sonia have known each other for what some might consider forever. After being acquainted as family friends as kids, the two began dating in high school and have been married for three decades. In September 2024, the couple, who are now in their 50s and reside in Grover Beach, Calif., decided to do something new in their marriage — and not on the level of trying a new restaurant for date night or buying a vacation home with their family. Instead, they decided to get plastic surgery at the same time. "Jose and I are pretty open about it," Sonia, 51, tells PEOPLE approximately seven months after her facial rejuvenation. She, a health center manager, has undergone cosmetic procedures before, having gotten Botox, fillers and a "Mommy Makeover" that included a breast lift and tummy tuck. But by the time she reached 50, she was more than ready to continue her journey with a facelift. "That was my goal. [She thought] when I turn 50, I won't have a big party, but I'll give myself the gift of looking refreshed again." On the other hand, Jose, 54 and the founder of construction company Quincon Inc., had never done anything to his face or body, but experienced a change of heart when Sonia casually brought up the idea of a subtle makeover. "Jose's got a baby face, but he had a little bit of excess on his neck. I told him, 'What about getting [plastic surgery] together,' since he's always been supportive of me in the past. He's been my nurse and my caregiver, so I said, 'You still have to take care of me, so why don't we take care of each other?'" Then, the couple paid a visit to Beverly Hills, Calif.-based surgeon Dr. Carl Truesdale, who is famous for his dramatic transformations on a range of patients, including his own mother. By the end of the joint consultation, Jose was on board. The pair share a son, 30, and a daughter, 24, who didn't know much about what their parents were about to get into, which Sonia and Jose wanted. "I told them I was going to get just a neck lift because I didn't want to worry them about me being under anesthesia for so long," adds Sonia. She also ended up undergoing a fat transfer procedure, buccal fat removal, a lip lift and some eye work involving a lid lift and what is called a lower eye pinch, which is the removal of excess fat from the lower eyelid area. Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Jose kept plans of his neck and facelift under the radar until after his procedure was completed. "I wanted to keep it more just between me and Sonia. I just wanted to keep it quiet." Surgery time came and went for the couple, who decided to space their operations one day apart from each other. Sonia went first (by her preference) and spent nearly half a day on the operating table. While she recovered, Jose went in next for his six-hour procedure. Sonia's procedures in total cost approximately $60,000, while Jose's hit around $30,000. Post-operation, each were monitored by a nurse aid who made sure everything went according to plan. Jose experienced "mild" complications near his ear drains, which flush out fluid near the surgical site to accelerate healing, states the Cleveland Clinic. Without care, this can cause a hematoma, which is pooling of blood within the body. Aside from that, recuperation for the pair went smoothly. The only thing that they wish they would've taken into further consideration was how they were going to help each other physically recover without extra hands at home. "You have to be very careful on doing everything. We were both recovering and couldn't really help each other that much," reveals Jose. But "emotionally, it's the greatest thing ever because we're both feeling the same pain and the same ups and downs that you go through for those first two weeks [after surgery]," he adds. They kept track of each other's antibiotic intakes and performed lymphatic drainage massages on one another. The time spent together looked a little different from their usual outings, but nonetheless, "I really enjoyed that time with him," says Sonia. is now available in the Apple App Store! Download it now for the most binge-worthy celeb content, exclusive video clips, astrology updates and more! After a few days, the couple were finally ready to unveil their transformations, which might seem nerve-wracking. What happens if the person you've known for your whole life suddenly looks different? Thankfully, they each had wonderful things to say about the other's results. "I was amazed," Jose says of his wife. "His neck looked really nice. Very snatched," adds Sonia. Before their transformations, the two were confident in themselves. Now, though, they live life with more vigor. "Refreshed and rejuvenated," Sonia and Jose look like how they feel — and that is a young couple at heart. "We wanted to look happy, alive, not tired and the procedures helped us with that]." Further plastic surgery will have to be "played by ear" they say, and for now, they'll enjoy their routine of going out for sushi every Tuesday and socializing with their friends. Sonia and Jose were the first couple Dr. Truesdale has worked on, and he tells PEOPLE that the experience was "truly something special." "They're the definition of 'couple goals.' I always like to say, a couple that facelifts together stays together. They really embody mutual support, and I knew I had to deliver an exceptional result for them," he says. "Twice the love, twice the number of happy patients." Read the original article on People
