Tacoma man dead from injuries following shooting last month has been identified
A Tacoma man who was injured from a shooting last month and died over the weekend has been identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Office.
Sopheap Sin, 34, died from wounds to the torso and right forearm after he was shot Feb. 27 near the 200 block of South 46th Street. His manner of death was listed as a homicide, the office wrote in a news release.
Officers were dispatched around 1 a.m. to the area for reports of gunfire. They found the victim injured from gunshot wounds, according to the Tacoma Police Department in a news release.
Tacoma Fire personnel began life-saving measures and took him to a local hospital. He died from his injuries Sunday.
No arrests have been made as of Thursday, according to a TPD spokesperson.
Sin was described as a funny and kind-hearted person with a loving soul who never hesitated to help his family or friends in need, according to a GoFundMe. The fundraiser was set up to raise funds to support Sin's family and help with funeral arraignments that would 'give him the farewell he deserves.'
'Tragically, Pheap was a victim of a crime that resulted in severe injuries that would affect his future quality of life. Despite all efforts, our family had to make the heartbreaking decision to let him go, trusting that he is now at peace and in a better place,' the fundraiser said.
