Stacey Solomon's co-star addresses her BAFTA rant after award loss
Stacey Solomon's Sort Your Life out co-star Dilly Carter has addressed the former X-Factor star's 'rant' as the BBC programme missed out on an award at the ceremony
Stacey Solomon's co-star Dilly Carter has spoken out about the star's BAFTA 'rant' after their BBC show Sort Your Life Out missed out on a gong on Sunday's ceremony. During Tuesday morning's Lorraine, Dilly said the star was "absolutely right."
Mum of five Stacey was nominated for Entertainment Performance for her show, and the BBC show was nominated for Factual Entertainment but lost out to Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour.
On Monday morning, Stacey took to Instagram to share her heartbreak on missing out, and she didn't hold back. While gardening, she told her followers on her story: "Good morning from the veg patch, about to do the morning water. We didn't win a BAFTA and I know I'm supposed to take it gracefully like a champ but I'll be honest I'm devastated."
"I'm not handling it very well, I'm not taking it very gracefully. I'm devastated for our whole team like I'm so gutted for our team. Everyone got dressed up and were really hopeful because I think because they work so hard," Stacey continued, as she said the Sort Your Life Out team deserved a BAFTA.
However, she clarified that she didn't mean to say that others didn't deserve a BAFTA as they "absolutely did."
Sort Your Life out decluttering expert Dilly appeared on Lorraine this morning for the fashion segment, where she opened up about her co-stars statement.
Speaking to Christine Lampard, Dilly said: "She is our fearless leader for a reason, that's what we have to remember. I agree with her in certain aspects, because it's not about us, it's about the production. So much goes into that show and we're just a little bit heartbroken for everyone who works so hard.
"I thought - good for you, say it how it was. She's like that. I think she was absolutely right, I support her as always."
Christine and Dilly then went on to clarify once again it was nothing against Rob and Rylan as they called their show "brilliant."
Sort Your Life Out started in 2021 and has had five series to date. The BBC show sees Stacey and her team help families transform their home with a life-changing declutter, as they upcycle and recycle their way to a new home.
Along with two nominations for Sort Your Life Out, Loose Women - which has Stacey on as a panellist - was nominated for Daytime Award against Morning Live, Richard Osman's House of Games and Clive Myrie's Caribbean Adventure.
