Turns out there is. It's a called a branded residence, and it offers all the hotel-style amenities of the brands it's named after, plus the comfort of home, at least to those with the cash to splash on a five-star apartment. 'The most outrageous luxury of today isn't marble-clad spas or sky-high pools, but time, health and ease,' says Becky Fatemi, executive partner at UK Sotheby's International Realty.

Luxury Toorak mansion listed by ex-AFL boss Andrew Demetriou for $15.5m

Former AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou and his model wife Symone Richards have listed their opulent Toorak home with hopes of $14.5m to $15.5m. Agents for the high-profile couple have relaunched the marketing campaign to sell the 1930s-built property fronting 5 Tyalla Crescent, Toorak that the Demetriou family purchased in 2007. In that time frame they hired top-tier Melbourne interior designer David Hicks to redo the property while keeping its grand period character. The Demetriou family wants to downsize, but will sell first, so are marketing the Marcus Martin-designed home that blends classic architecture with modern family function. It has six bedrooms, a six-car basement, swimming pool and spa, and a landscaped rear garden with a firepit, trampoline and basketball court. Antoinette Nido, managing director Stonnington, Melbourne Sotheby's International Realty and Max Ruttner, managing director Stonnington, Melbourne Sotheby's International Realty, are handling the sale of the high-profile residence, saying that homes of this calibre rarely come to market. Ms Nido says the house has great proportions and spaces as well as a fantastic children's area upstairs, two studies and she likes the fact that the children's study is close to the kitchen and family room. 'You can be cooking while watching homework happen across the room,' Ms Nido said. She notes the house, positioned on 1100sq m, is close to schools including St Kevin's College Toorak, St Catherine's and Scotch College as well as public transport. 'The proportions are exceptional. It's a true 1930s Toorak home with a sense of grandeur from the moment you arrive.' A circular driveway leads to an imposing formal entry and lounge, with a private study and expansive open-plan family zone at the rear. The marble kitchen and large butler's pantry open to outdoor entertaining spaces that capture the northern light. The designer main bedroom suite has a walk-in robe, luxurious ensuite and balcony. Mr Demetriou was the chief executive of the AFL from 2003 to 2014. The Australian businessman, a former AFL player, is also a sports administrator. The listing comes as real estate activity lifts across Melbourne's prestige market, with buyers circling family homes in established blue-chip pockets. 'At the top end the market is pretty good,' Ms Nido said. 'There's a number of buyers who have made money from IPOs and are in the market for properties in the $15m to $50m range. They want good locations, a large land size, proximity to leading schools and good design. Some people specifically like character homes. 'At this level, it is not a one-size-fits-all market, with some buyers attracted to character-filled homes and others chasing more modern properties. But the fundamentals of natural light, connection to gardens and good amenities remain sought after.' Recent top-end sales in the area include 53 Rose Street, Armadale, the home of interior designer Melissa Giuffrida. It fetched close to $9m. Ellen DeGeneres, Portia de Rossi list sprawling farmhouse for $45m

Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi are offloading their sprawling UK farmhouse for a whopping $US30 million ($A45 million). In November, the couple fled the US and relocated to the Cotswolds, a known favourite among the Hollywood elite. But just one year after purchasing the lavish estate, the pair have now listed it for sale, The Wall Street Journal reports. The former talk show host, 67, and the 'Arrested Development' alum, 52, forked over roughly $US20 million ($A30 million) for the property last year, the outlet adds. 'When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn't live without her horses,' DeGeneres told the outlet. 'We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.' The couple have reportedly already relocated to a nearby home that can better house their pets and animals. According to the official listing, Sotheby's International Realty notes the property boasts seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Dubbed the 'Kitesbridge Farm', the estate also features a two-bedroom guest cottage equipped with a kitchen and sitting room, as well as a 'heated' five-car garage that comes with its own kitchenette. The house also has a 'party barn' with a bar, a heated indoor swimming pool, a gym, a kitchen garden, and multiple outdoor living areas. A helicopter shed is also included. News of the listing comes just days after the comedian confirmed she and de Rossi decided to pack up and move to the UK because of President Donald Trump's re-election. DeGeneres detailed her new life across the pond during a conversation with British host Richard Bacon onstage in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, Sunday, per the BBC. Admitting that the pair had initially only planned to stay in the UK for a couple of months, they ultimately pulled the trigger on a permanent move in November following Trump's historic win over Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. 'We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, 'He got in,' ' she said. 'And we're like, 'We're staying here.' '

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi List Their English Countryside Estate for $30 Million

Looks like Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are picking up right where they left off in the U.S.—only now, they're flipping multimillion-dollar estates in the Cotswolds instead of Montecito. Just months after snapping up a dreamy 43-acre estate in England's celeb-loved countryside, the couple is putting it back on the market for a cool $30 million with Andrew Barnes of United Kingdom Sotheby's International Realty. That's right: they bought it, overhauled it, lived in it for about a month, and now they're moving on. The rural property, tucked down a long private driveway and known as Kitesbridge Farm, blends 18th-century charm with sleek, modern updates. Think rustic stone walls and soaring ceilings alongside sculptural forms and tons of natural light, all wrapped around a central courtyard. There's also a giant eat-in kitchen, a handful of grand yet cozy sitting rooms, and a separate guest cottage for friends, staff, or whoever's lucky enough to get an invite. Atop the five-car heated garage, a massive room has been converted into a casual entertainment space complete with its own bar. There's also an indoor pool, a full gym, a kitchen garden, and even a helicopter shed among the pastoral, naturalistic landscape. The former talk show host and her actress wife bought the estate last June for about $20 million, reportedly paying more than $3 million above the asking price. Skilled and serial renovators, they wasted no time making it their own—bringing in 70 workers and finishing a soup-to-nuts renovation in just 10 weeks, The Wall Street Journal reported. Why sell so soon after such a rapid and Herculean effort? According to DeGeneres, it all came down to horses. The couple decided to relocate to the U.K. after the 2024 election and quickly realized their four-legged family members needed more space than Kitesbridge Farm. 'When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn't live without her horses,' DeGeneres told the newspaper. 'We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.' Their new place—just 30 minutes away—is a sprawling, ultramodern compound in Oxfordshire, with Japanese-inspired landscaping and all the space their herd could want. It's a major departure from the cozy English farmhouse vibe of Kitesbridge, but it checks all their boxes. DeGeneres recently spilled the beans at a speaking event in Cheltenham with the British broadcaster Richard Bacon, telling the crowd: 'We decided we needed a different house, and now we're selling that house.
