He also underscored Bolivia's strong ties with Arab nations, especially the UAE, and expressed his interest in boosting these relations through bilateral meetings and increased parliamentary exchanges.

Shura Second Deputy Chairman Highlights Bahraini Women's Progress, Calls for Stronger Regional Cooperation
Rabat: Dr. Jihad Abdullah Al Fadhel, Second Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council and Chairperson of the Parliamentary Network of Women Parliamentarians in Africa and the Arab World, chaired the network's meeting on the sidelines of the South-South Parliamentary Dialogue Forum in Rabat. She highlighted that Bahraini women have made significant progress in legislation, the economy, and society, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She commended the contributions of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), in advancing women's empowerment. According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Fadhel reviewed Bahrain's experience in women's development and emphasised the importance of sharing expertise across Africa and the Arab world. She announced the Shura Council's readiness to host the network's first training programme, focusing on the use of technology to enhance the performance of Arab and African women parliamentarians. Dr. Al Fadhel underlined the challenges women continue to face, particularly legislative, economic, cultural, and social barriers, and called for collective action to enhance legal protections, support economic participation, and combat stereotypes limiting public engagement. She emphasised the need for regional solidarity and proposed launching a legislative empowerment programme for African women parliamentarians. She also welcomed a proposal to establish an annual award recognising outstanding women parliamentarians in Africa and the Arab world, aiming to encourage excellence and innovation. Dr. Al Fadhel concluded by calling for stronger joint programmes, support for young parliamentarians, and greater integration of women's issues into regional and international agendas.

Morocco Enhances Parliamentary Cooperation with Pakistan, Lesotho
Rabat — Morocco's House of Councillors signed cooperation agreements with Pakistan and Lesotho during the 3rd South-South Parliamentary Cooperation Forum held in Rabat on April 28-29. House of Councillors President Mohamed Ouled Errachid met with his counterparts Youssef Reda Jilali from Pakistan and Mamonaheng Mokitimi from Lesotho to sign the agreements. According to an official statement, these pacts aim to strengthen parliamentary dialogue and improve bilateral relations between the nations. The agreements focus on promoting legislative and technical cooperation through parliamentary friendship groups and the institutional frameworks of their legislative bodies. The signatory parties reaffirmed their commitment to developing initiatives that build parliamentary staff capabilities through conferences, forums, seminars, internship programs, and workshops. The countries will also exchange information on priority issues, parliamentary procedures, and institutional processes. New Network of Secretaries General On Tuesday, Al Assad Zerouali, Secretary General of the Councillors, chaired the founding meeting of the Network of Secretaries General, established through the South-South Parliamentary Dialogue Forum. Zerouali described this initiative as 'a framework conducive to exchanges, dialogue, and finding solutions to improve the institutional performance of member councils.' The meeting was a platform to establish consultation and coordination mechanisms that 'lay the groundwork for inter-institutional cooperation for modern parliamentary diplomacy.' The Network aims to create a regular institutional space for dialogue and experience sharing among secretaries general, strengthen human and administrative capabilities of legislative councils, and develop joint initiatives to modernize parliamentary administration and increase its effectiveness. Several secretaries general from legislative institutions representing the four main geopolitical regions of South, namely Africa, the Arab world, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Asia, lauded this initiative to create the Network of Secretaries General.
