Two shops in this town caught selling vapes to 15-year-old teen
Two shops in Burnley sold vapes to a child during a police and Trading Standards operation.
Officers and Lancashire Trading Standards attended 11 shops, primarily in the South Burnley area.
Nine shops acted with due diligence but two shops sold vapes to 15-year-old test purchasers. The legal age to buy a vape is 18.
Workers at these shops will be offered additional training to educate them on why age are in place on products.
A police spokesperson said: 'Myself and Lancashire Trading Standards have attended 11 shops primarily in the South Burnley area
'Although most shops acted with due diligence, 2 shops sold vapes to our 15-year-old test purchasers. The legal age is 18
'These shops will be dealt with in due course and the workers offered additional training to educate on why we have age restrictions on products
'We will continue to work with Trading Standards and Police Cadets to ensure trading is legal and safe.'
