What we know It happened at a multifamily residential building on Sun Valley Drive, near Green Bay Road and 16th Street, around 1:20 p.m. A 911 caller reported smoke coming from a second-floor unit. The fire was brought under control by 1:35 p.m. The unit has been declared uninhabitable, displacing the residents. No residents were inside the unit, and no injuries were reported. However, three pets were found dead inside the unit. What we don't know SSFD did not specify what type of pets were found. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Wisconsin driver arrested for 4th OWI after early morning vehicle crash
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (WFRV) – A driver was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated (OWI) for the fourth time following a crash early Saturday morning, according to the Mount Pleasant Police Department. A Facebook post from the department says the incident occurred just after 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 3rd, at the intersection of State Highway 31 (N. Green Bay Road) and Northwestern Avenue (STH 83). Emergency crews from the Mount Pleasant Police Department and South Shore Fire Department responded to the scene. Man wanted in Wisconsin arrested in Chicago for fatal New Year's Eve crash Police say the vehicle was traveling westbound on Northwestern Avenue when it crashed into a traffic signal on the northwest corner of the intersection. The car sustained heavy front-end damage. The driver reportedly suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities later arrested the individual for their 4th OWI offense. The vehicle was towed, and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation was called to access the damage to the traffic signal. MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. - A 34-year-old Racine man was taken into custody on Thursday morning, April 24 after crashing into a garage in Mount Pleasant while fleeing from police. What we know According to the Mount Pleasant Police Department, around 1:40 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on STH 31/S Green Bay Road. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle, at which time the vehicle fled. Following a short pursuit, the vehicle crashed into a residence on Regency Hills Drive near Providence Drive. The subject's vehicle struck the garage, damaging the residence and two vehicles inside the garage. There were no reported injuries to the residents inside the home at the time of the accident. What we know The driver, a 34-year-old Racine man, sustained minor injuries and was taken into custody. He was evaluated and treated by the South Shore Fire Department and transported to the hospital for further medical care. He was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI-2nd Offense), Possession of THC (Repeat Drug Offender), Reckless Endangering Safety-2nd Degree, and Fleeing and Eluding an Officer.
