Isolated downpours and cool temperatures continue Thursday afternoon
SALT LAKE CITY () — Happy Thursday, Utah! The upper trough that has been bringing us such cool and unsettled weather conditions should begin to exit the area Thursday afternoon, but we still could see isolated rain chances around during the day. The best chances for showers on Thursday will be for areas east of I-15, especially across the mountains. Highs will begin to rebound but remain below average during this time. Highs jump back into the 60s for the Wasatch Front, and upper 70s to near 80° for SW Utah. Friday will feature a mix of clouds and sunshine. Moisture still lingering across the state could still produce a few pop-up showers across Utah. Temperatures will warm into the upper 60s across the Wasatch Front and low to mid-80s for SW Utah. Saturday will feature increasing clouds and breezy conditions as our next storm system approaches the state. This system will bring increasing chances for showers and rumbles, Saturday night through Sunday and Monday, along with another round of cooler temperatures! Some areas may pick up between 1.00-2.00″ of rain across northern Utah through Tuesday! This system will also bring dropping snow levels, so our mountains could be in line for some late-season snowfall this weekend. The best chances for this will be above 6,000-6500 FT.
