I test noise-canceling headphones for a living — here's my top picks under $100

"The best noise-canceling headphones often come with higher prices, and more premium feature sets." That's something I might have said a few years ago, but they're now more accessible than ever thanks to some great budget options. While there are some truly standout models that cost $400 or more, there are a handful of headphones under $100 that deliver good sound and good noise cancelation. If you're looking to spend as little as possible for a pair of headphones that can block out the world, there are some great values to be had. Here are three sub-$100 ANC headphones that I've tested that give you everything you need. The 1More Sonoflow Pro deliver features that you'd normally expect from something more premium at a price you can afford. They're a light pair of headphones with lovely soft padding, which means they're comfortable over long periods of time. The physical controls are easy to use, and easy to find when you can't see them. Which is good, given they're going to live on your head. The sound is good, with a welcoming sonic experience that offers clear details. There's still plenty of bass though, and the mids are well represented, too. For less than $90 they're a great option if you're looking for something nice and cheap that still offers noise canceling for the train. 1More is no stranger to a great pair of budget headphones, and the Sonoflow Pro are a great example of what to expect. They're comfortable, sound good, and offer very solid ANC for a price that's not going to break the bank. There have to be some sacrifices made on the alter of price when it comes to headphones this cheap — in the case of the JBuds Lux ANC, it's a lack of protective hardcase. Other than that you're getting a pair of super comfortable headphones that don't cost loads of money while offering a 70-hour battery life and ANC that's much better than you'd expect for the price. They sound good too, with some great bassy rumble to keep them engaging while listening. That low price makes sure you won't pay too much either — if you can live without a hard case, these are a wallet- and ear-pleasing sub-$100 option. The folding JBuds Lux ANC bring more premium features to a budget price point. They're a light and comfortable pair of headphones that also happen to sound really good — and they fold up nice and small so that they can fit inside your backpack. There's something different about the Space One, and that's their wonderful sense of style. Where headphones at this price usually settle for a standard-looking black or gray chassis that wouldn't inspire anyone, the Space One feature a design that makes them look unlike anything else. There are fun colors, sleek metallic accents, and sturdy feeling plastic throughout to make sure you feel like you've got your money's worth. They sound good, and feature a comfortable fit thanks to some lovely soft padding foam. 40 hours of battery is good too, especially when the ANC is turned on. Physical controls round out a great budget over-ears package. We gave them a solid 4-star rating when we reviewed them, and they still hold up as one of the best cheap wireless headphones. The Soundcore Space One offer some great features for a very solid price. Their ANC is excellent, blocking out loads of noise in busy places, and they sound good thanks to some great audio tuning. The Soundcore app is a useful way to dial in their sound as well, thanks to an EQ.

2 New Drops From SpaceOne & Richard Mille x LeBron Totally Defy Gravity!

Calling all watch aficionados – two premium creations have just dropped, and they're everything! Ranging from a space-inspired timepiece that is out of this world, to a chronograph that's a must-have for any real Lakers fan – these two exclusive watches are what you need in your dragon's hoard. LeBron x Richard Mille Lakers Timepiece The limited-edition Richard Mille watch that LeBron James recently unveiled was one that he personally helped design. The watch displays the famous craftsmanship of Richard Mille, which is enhanced with athletic elegance and bold details. The bright yellow strap, made of TKM rubber for comfort and durability, is an homage to the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron's signature logo appears at 12 o'clock on the dial, boldly green with a yellow border. A yellow Quartz TPT middle case with green accents and a unique purple hour marker ring contrast with the case's sleek black textured material. A yellow and green crown, teal chronograph dials, and James' signature engraved in purple on the case's back are additional design elements that combine luxury watchmaking with a sporty and personal touch. This exclusive timepiece is reportedly fetching US$450,000 (~RM1,900,803), with only 150 pieces available worldwide. Additional details will be released at a later date. For more information, visit Richard Mille's official website. SpaceOne WorldTimer With the introduction of the WorldTimer, a daring development in its space-inspired design philosophy, SpaceOne begins its third chapter. Following the success of the Jumping Hour and Tellurium models, returning designer Olivier Gamiette created the WorldTimer, a timepiece that combines space shuttle aesthetics with automotive design cues to accompany contemporary globetrotters. The WorldTimer deviates from conventional watchmaking conventions by using a system of rotating discs in place of traditional hands. A 12-hour disc at six o'clock, a central seconds disc, and a minutes disc at three o'clock are all part of the display architecture. Additionally, there are two coaxial discs at nine o'clock that show the time of day and the cities that correspond to it. A three-position crown that enables simple adjustments – manual winding, quick city disc setting, and synchronised 12H/24H time setting – accompanies this creative design. The watch is made of Grade 5 titanium, which was selected for its strength and light weight. It's finished with a variety of sandblasted, brushed, and polished textures that experiment with form and light. The watch's futuristic appearance is further enhanced by the sapphire dome that shields the hour disc, city disc, and 24-hour disc. The dependable Soprod P024 automatic movement, which runs at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a 38-hour power reserve, powers the WorldTimer. The brand's dedication to mechanical innovation is demonstrated by the in-house WorldTimer complication, which was created and put together in Paris. The SpaceOne WorldTimer can be purchased now for EU€2,700 (~RM13,449), with only 600 pieces in the first batch. To get your own, visit the brand's official website.

Forget AirPods Max — here's the 5 headphones I recommend for every budget

When your headphones die, it can often be a mission to try and work out what new pair you should pick up. One of the best ways to narrow down the search is to nail down your budget — that way, you can maximise the value of your headphone purchase, without spending too much. Sometimes that budget stretches to the $499 sticker price of the AirPods Max. Sometimes it doesn't. And sometimes, you're looking to go all-out for the crème de la crème of audio gear and the AirPods Max simply won't cut it. Whether your budget is tight or large, there are plenty of options to spend your money on. To make life even easier, I've got here 5 budgets and 5 pairs of the best headphones to fit them. JLab is well known for making some excellent headphones at bargain prices — and the JBuds Lux sit pretty close to the top of the pile. They forgo some luxuries like a protective case, but they more than make up for it with some solid battery life, good comfort, and extra features that outperform headphones that are even twice the price. For $79 they're something of a steal. Our reviewer, Erin, particularly liked the sound quality of the JBuds Lux, thanks to some lovely detail to the sound. ANC is excellent for the price, and they're built much better than you might expect. They more than prove that you don't have to spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to net yourself a great pair of headphones. For just $79 you're getting a pretty special pair of headphones. They're comfortable, feature ANC and other premium amenities, and they sound good too. For the price, they're a fantastic option. The $100-200 price range is jam-packed with excellent headphone options — but our review Erin was bowled away by the Soundcore Space One Pro when she got the opportunity to give them a test. They step up the design and the features from the previous model — the only thing missing in the package is a carrying case. They're very comfortable, with great padding on the earcups and headband. They fold up super small, so you can fit them in even the tightest of bags and packs. Sound is very good, and the ANC does a great job at silencing the outside world for long-haul flights or quick bus trips to work. Soundcore's second try at the Space One brought a "Pro" moniker along with some excellent features. They feature brilliant sound, classy looks, and very good ANC for the price. We loved them in our 4.5-star review, especially for their comfort that lasts all day. I love every second I spend with the Marshall Monitor III. I love the way that they look, I love the way that they sound, and I've found I can wear them for super long periods of time without any problems at all. ANC is good too, and I think they're some of the coolest looking headphones that you can buy today. Most people are going to be interested in their incredibly impressive battery life, however. They last for 100 hours if you leave ANC turned off, and if you turn noise canceling on they last for 70 hours. They are, in fact, the current battery life Tom's Guide record holders. For $150 less than the AirPods Max, they're a spectacular option. The Marshall Monitor III pack rock star looks and style into a great headphone package. They sound excellent, and they're extremely comfortable. It's the 100-hour battery life that really impresses though, especially when it only drops to 70 with ANC turned on. Now we're in the AirPods Max's price territory, and yet, the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S3 are the most impressive headphone launch of the year in my mind. They take a winning formula, and then slim it down and improve in some key areas to make a set of cans that take the fight to the more established competition. When I tested them earlier this year, I was incredibly impressed. The ANC is now comparable to similarly priced headphones, they're incredibly comfortable, and the battery life is more than enough for most of your daily applications. It's the sound that really wins the day here though. They've got plenty of detail, but they also manage to be a lovely warm listen as well. The Px7 S3 are currently my pick for the best headphones at the moment, with excellent sound quality, plenty of battery, and a comfortable fit. They might not be the cheapest pair on the list, but they likely tick the most boxes for largest amount of people. When I tested these headphones last year they just about fit into the budget — although since then there have been... happenings which have jacked up the price. The Dali IO-8 are still a pretty special pair of headphones if you've got a bit more money to spend. They sound sublime, with one of the best sound signatures I've heard in a pair of wireless headphones. They're comfortable too, and their physical controls are top notch. They're not for vegans — all of the padding is leather and there are no alternative options — but they are spectacular for the price. Dali's IO-8 are some of the best wireless headphones I've ever tested — they're also incredibly expensive. UK shoppers are in for the deal of the century when they only pay £500, while US buyers pay a more premium price. They sound incredible and offer excellent comfort.
