Special Sub Inspector ends life in Theni
A Special Sub-Inspector of Police Saravanan 51, was found dead in Cumbum in Theni district on Wednesday. It was said that he was suffering from certain health issues for some time. The Cumbum North police sent the body for postmortem and registered a case. Woman constable ends life in Nagapattinam
A 2023 batch policewoman attached to the Armed Reserve in Nagapattinam district allegedly ended her life while on duty on Sunday morning. Abinaya, 29, hailing from Keezhayiruppu in Manakkudi, Mayiladuthurai district, was posted as constable at the District Treasury in Nagapattinam. She was on duty between 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. when she took the extreme step. Authorities have sent the body to the Government Medical College Hospital in Nagapattinam for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered by the Nagore police and further investigation is under way. Elderly couple found dead
An elderly couple were found dead near a village tank in Madurai district on Saturday The Othakadai police said that Dhanraj, 68, and Alagumuthu, 60, were living in Samayanallur. He was a rice merchant. The couple had come here to visit the family deity. Though the real cause for the death was not known, inquiries revealed that they had no children for long years. The bodies were sent to the Government Rajaji Hospital for post-mortem. Further investigation is on. Officers transferred The Prisons Department has transferred 16 officers in the rank of assistant jailors working in many southern districts on Saturday. The orders were issued to the officials working in Madurai, Palayamkottai Central Prisons and in other district/sub-jails, including Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi and Kuzhithurai.
