Law Enforcement Torch Run to cause traffic delays in South Burlington
SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) – Drivers and other travelers in South Burlington will want to keep an eye out for traffic Thursday. Runners taking part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Vermont will be escorted by police cruisers, which may cause delays, officials say. Williston Road and the areas between Spear Street plus Gregory Drive may feel the brunt of traffic. All delays are expected to last from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., according to a South Burlington Facebook post. Law enforcement community members will be carrying the Flame of Hope from the four corners of the state. The annual Special Olympics Vermont Summer Games will take place after the run, from June 6-7.
