RGIII named to NFF 2026 HOF Ballot

DALLAS, Texas (FOX 44) — The National Football Foundation released the 2026 NFF College Football Hall of Fame Ballot on Monday, including Baylor legend Robert Griffin III. RGIII becomes one of 79 players and nine coaches from the FBS named to the ballot, with the chance to be cemented in the NFF College Football Hall of Fame forever. Currently, just .02% of players and 247 coaches make up the Hall. 'When you look at what what Robert did and how good Baylor was when he was there, I don't want to say it's a no brainer, but it comes under the category of an automatic,' NFF President and CEO Steve Hatchell said. 'He made Baylor very good, very strong, very solid. You look at the whole package and if you've got touch points on all of it, Robert fits in very easily to the Hall of Fame.' The ballot is emailed to all NFF chapter members, NFF academic members and Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) members today for a vote. The results are provided to the NFF Honors Court, which determines the final class members. The 2026 class will officially be revealed in January, with induction occurring in December of 2026. Law Enforcement Torch Run to cause traffic delays in South Burlington

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) – Drivers and other travelers in South Burlington will want to keep an eye out for traffic Thursday. Runners taking part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Vermont will be escorted by police cruisers, which may cause delays, officials say. Williston Road and the areas between Spear Street plus Gregory Drive may feel the brunt of traffic. All delays are expected to last from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., according to a South Burlington Facebook post. Law enforcement community members will be carrying the Flame of Hope from the four corners of the state. The annual Special Olympics Vermont Summer Games will take place after the run, from June 6-7. Stapp staying in Aggieland to walk on at Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (FOX 44) — Recent College Station High School graduate dual-sport athlete Wilson Stapp is staying home but trading in the patented Cougars purple for Maroon as a preferred walk-on for Aggie football next year. 'I've been an Aggie my whole life,' Stapp said. 'It's cool to be the next guy [to play for A&M] and continue playing.' The All-State running back for the Cougars tallied 1,308 all-purpose yards with 12 touchdowns last season for College Station, helping lead them to a Regional Semifinal appearance. 'I'm a really hard worker, put my head down and go to work,' Stapp said. '[I] also understand the stop that I'm in and I'm lucky to be on the team. I think it's just being grateful to be there but continue to work hard and have confidence in yourself.' Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
