26 arrested, firearms and drugs seized in multi-agency operation in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Ga. () — The Columbus Police Department announced today a multi-agency operation which resulted in the arrests of 26 individuals and seizure of money, various drugs and firearms. The operation was carried out by CPD's Special Operations Unit and Bureau of Patrol Services, in partnership with the Muscogee County School District Police Department and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. During the operation, the following were recovered: 25.4 grams of Fentanyl (approximate street value: $2,540) 135.3 grams of Marijuana ($1,353) 86 pills / 12.6 grams of Ecstasy ($430) 1.4 grams of Cocaine ($140) 0.3 grams of Methamphetamine ($20) $673 in cash 4 firearms one vehicle CPD says officers arrested 26 people, filed 52 charges and cleared 12 outstanding warrants. LAWTON, Okla. (KFDX/KJTL) — During a joint investigation with traffic stops and search warrants, three people were arrested last week and jailed in Lawton with several charges, including drug trafficking and gun possession. Julio Bustamante, Yaimaris Prevals Rodriguez, and Agustin Marquez were jailed in the Comanche County Detention Center. Lawton police said on Thursday, March 20, the police department's Special Operations Unit and the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs seized 290 grams of powder Fentanyl, 933 grams of Methamphetamine, $34,980 in drug proceeds, two vehicles, and seven firearms. Lawton police said based on those seizures, the OBNDD's Anti-Heroin Task Force seized an additional 626 grams of Fentanyl powder, 494 grams of counterfeit prescription tablets containing Fentanyl, 883 grams of Methamphetamine, and $20,000 in drug money from a related residence in Oklahoma City. Marquez is charged with use of firearm while committing a felony, possession of a controlled substance, trafficking in Fentanyl 1 gram or more, and acquire proceeds from drug activities. Bustamante is charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in illegal drugs and is being held on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainer. Deputies say the man threatened to shoot himself and someone else after they got into a fight. Authorities successfully evacuated all the other people involved. FORT MYERS, Fla. - A Fort Myers man is accused of pointing a gun at someone and barricading himself inside a bedroom on Friday night. Lee County's Sheriff's Office says they took Weston Allen Gardner, 39, into custody after a multi-hour standoff between him and authorities. Deputies say they arrived at a home on the 2000 block of Gorthan Ave., where Gardner threatened to shoot himself and another person after they got into a fight. What we know Authorities say the fight happened before they arrived, which was just after 9 p.m. on Friday. He remained barricaded for hours, ignoring repeated commands by deputies to come out. Dig deeper According to LCSO, it took "several hours" and the deployment of their Special Operations Unit and Crisis Negations Team for Gardner to emerge from the bedroom. It was then that he was ordered to the ground by deputies and taken into custody. He now faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and obstruction without violence. After LCSO took Gardner into custody, they say the investigation was taken over by the 5th Precinct Crime Section Detectives. FORT MYERS, Fla. (WFLA) — A Fort Myers man was arrested Friday after deputies said he threatened to shoot somebody inside the home and barricaded himself in a bedroom. Just after 9 p.m., the Lee County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance at a home in the 2000 block of Gorthan Avenue in Fort Myers. The video shows the moment Gardner exited the home, was ordered to the ground and placed under arrest. Two men who were involved in illegal cockfighting, in which cockerels were being trained on treadmills, have been Steele, 53, and Douglas Price, 34, both of Poplar Meadow, Sleaford Road, Beckingham, Lincolnshire, were found by officers to have dozens of cockerels, hens and chicks in enclosures along with cockfighting items during a search of their premises in May 2024. The RSPCA said its investigation also found two dead chicks at the site and there was "little or no food or water" for the remaining animals, which were "kept in dark, cramped and dirty pens".Both men were handed ten-week jail terms suspended by 12 months at Lincoln Magistrates' Court. The RSPCA's Special Operations Unit (SOU) also dismantled two fighting pits and seized several the raid, investigators had found a "cockerel treadmill", a spokesperson said. "This was cylindrical and in the shape of a ferris wheel," said one unnamed officer."It is an item I recognise [that was] used to condition and train cockerels to increase their fitness and stamina."
