Lincolnshire men sentenced after 'cockerels trained on treadmill'
The RSPCA's Special Operations Unit (SOU) also dismantled two fighting pits and seized several vehicles.During the raid, investigators had found a "cockerel treadmill", a spokesperson said. A spokesperson for the SOU said: "All of these birds suffered because of the unsuitable conditions they were kept in and the purpose they were being kept for."It is a relief we were able to take them away from that and get them the kind of care, medical treatment, food and water they should have been provided with.PC James Knychala, rural, wildlife and heritage crime officer for Lincolnshire Police, said: "Ultimately, the result means serious disruption to the underworld of cock fighting which we believe will be felt across the country."It's illegal and barbaric and has no place in our society."

Police warning after seal pup bitten by dogs on Mablethorpe beach

Dennis Drew, one of the directors at Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary, said the seal had been receiving treatment in hospital and would eventually be released back into the said: "It is responding to medication for a mouth infection and it could be with us potentially for several months while it recovers."We couldn't see any clear bite marks from the dogs so it may have just been nipped."We're advising people to be wary when they're walking on the beach and when they do let them off, to make sure they have a good recall as dogs are just doing what they instinctively know, which is to defend themselves." Body found in Richmond river search for 12-year-old boy
A body has been found by police searching a North Yorkshire river for a missing 12-year-old were called just after 17:00 BST on Saturday after the boy was seen going into the River Swale in Yorkshire Police carried out extensive searches along with fire and rescue officers and specialist search teams, but said the body of a child was recovered at 22:45 BST.
