Jon Bernthal Wears The Punisher's New Suit in Set Videos for Marvel Special

Separate set videos shared by fan accounts on X (formerly Twitter) seemingly show Frank Castle shooting enemies in a car, then storming into a restaurant linked to Ma Gnucci, who will reportedly serve as the Punisher's main antagonist. She will be the first live-action female villain Frank Castle has faced in years. Bernthal last appeared escaping Wilson Fisk's Anti-Vigilante Task Force at the end of Born Again Season 1. The Punisher special takes place after Daredevil: Born Again. Bernthal co-wrote it with Reinaldo Marcus Green, who also serves as its director. The Special Presentation is expected to be R-rated and will debut on Disney+ in 2026. Bernthal previously told The Hollywood Reporter, 'It's going to be dark; Frank has no interest in breaking out the darkness… It will not be Punisher-lite, I promise you that.' He later added in another interview with Collider, 'If we do it, we do it right, and we have real sacred integrity to the source material.' Bernthal will also appear as the Punisher in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, releasing July 31, 2026. That film will mark Frank Castle's first cinematic appearance since Punisher: War Zone in 2008.
