Each grade had to select a piece of literature to bring to life through a recital of their choice. From monologues to comic sketches to reciting group poetry, the evening was a demonstration of the tireless efforts of the learners and their teachers. The learners also had their performances moderated by the Speech and Drama Association of South Africa.
Ntozinhle Nkomo, marketing manager and events co-ordinator, said while this event is absolutely about the performance, it's also about providing learners with all-important life skills of public speaking, expression and language development.
'The success of the evening would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of our dedicated teachers, whose guidance and encouragement brought out the best in each child,' said Nkomo.
She extended a special thanks to the school's principal, Benjamin Mpangase, as well as the Speech and Drama Association of South Africa for their support in nurturing drama excellence at grassroots level.
And as the final curtain fell, the young artists of BCA walked off the stage cheered on by parents and supporters for their confidence and talents.
