Guelph Police are investigating after they said a man was robbed on Tuesday because of an alleged unpaid debt. At around 7:40 p.m., police said an officer was near the intersection of Speedvale Avenue East and Delhi Street when a man waved them down and said he was robbed. The man told police he went to another area downtown to pick someone up when a different man he knew got into his vehicle and demanded he pay his debt. They then drove to the area of the intersection before the suspect removed and took the victim's car keys, along with his phone and left. A little while later, police said the suspect came back and took the vehicle, which police had found in a nearby parking lot. Police said they know who the suspect is but have not found him.
