Man robbed of vehicle, phone after allegedly not paying debt: Guelph Police
Guelph Police are investigating after they said a man was robbed on Tuesday because of an alleged unpaid debt. At around 7:40 p.m., police said an officer was near the intersection of Speedvale Avenue East and Delhi Street when a man waved them down and said he was robbed. The man told police he went to another area downtown to pick someone up when a different man he knew got into his vehicle and demanded he pay his debt. They then drove to the area of the intersection before the suspect removed and took the victim's car keys, along with his phone and left. A little while later, police said the suspect came back and took the vehicle, which police had found in a nearby parking lot. Police said they know who the suspect is but have not found him.

Guelph business employee allegedly assaulted during theft: police

On May 22 at around 6:45 p.m., Guelph Police said they were called to the business near Silvercreek Parkway North and Speedvale Avenue West. Staff told police that a man was seen placing store items into his backpack. They said a loss prevention officer then asked him to use a store basket instead, before the suspect ran away. The employee followed him outside the store to arrest him but staff told police the suspect allegedly pushed the employee into a concrete pillar and ran away again. Police said the employee was not hurt. Police said officers found the suspect downtown on Thursday and arrested him. A 45-year-old man from Guelph was charged with assault.

Guelph man arrested after roommate hit with frying pan
Guelph Police have charged a 64-year-old man after his roommate was hit in the head with a frying pan. On May 9, officers were called to a home at Eramosa Road and Speedvale Avenue East. A man told them that he had been watching television when his roommate accused him of stealing, before hitting him in the head and hand with a frying pan. Police said the victim was injured on the top of his head. On Thursday afternoon, officers arrested a 64-year-old Guelph man and charged him with assault with a weapon.
