DJ Snake Will Headline Insomniac & Tomorrowland's UNITY Show at Sphere Las Vegas

Insomniac and Tomorrowland have announced the next headliner for its forthcoming joint show, UNITY, at Sphere Las Vegas. DJ Snake will play the venue on Friday, Sept. 19, joining a previously announed lineup that includes Chase & Status, Kaskade and Eli Brown, who will play Sphere on Aug. 29, 30 and 31, respectively, during UNITY's opening weekend. 'This show is one of you at Sphere on Sept. 19!' Tickets for the event are on sale now, with UNITY's opening weekend sold out. Headliners for the remaining five UNITY shows on Sept. 20, 26, 27 and Oct. 17 and 18 will be announced in the coming weeks. UNITY marks the first ever collaboration from Insomniac and Tomorrowland, two of the world's biggest dance music promoters. Insomniac's portfolio includes the mighty EDC Las Vegas and a long list of of other global festivals and club shows, while Tomorrowland is behind its namesake festival in Belgium, the first weekend of which begins this Friday, July 18. With high level visuals being a key characteristics of both Insomniac and Tomorrowland events, the production for UNITY is highly anticipated and expected to be similarly dazzling. A statement about the show predicts a 'multi-hour immersive experience blending cinematic 360° visuals, original orchestration, and world-building from Insomniac and Tomorrowland's most beloved festival realms, culminating each night with a powerful live performance from a globally renowned artist.' UNITY marks the second major dance music event at Sphere, with Anyma becoming the venue's first ever dance headliner during his residency in late 2024/early 2025. Las Vegas Strip casinos have closed several popular legendary country singer residencies in the first half of 2025. The good news is that another major country superstar, Kenny Chesney, will open the first country residency at Sphere Las Vegas for 15 shows, beginning May 22 and ending June 21, unless the engagement is extended. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Last year, major country residencies closed on the strip, as Luke Bryan ended an engagement at Resorts World on Jan. 6, 2024, and Miranda Lambert closed her "Velvet Rodeo" residency at Planet Hollywood on April 6, 2024. Legendary country singer Garth Brooks wrapped up his sold-out 54-show Plus One residency at Caesars Entertainment's Colosseum at Caesars Palace on the Las Vegas Strip on March 8, 2025, and country superstar Carrie Underwood concluded her long-running "Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency" engagement at the Resorts World Theater at Resorts World Las Vegas after 71 shows, finishing on April 12. Country star Blake Shelton closed his first-ever residency on the Strip when he wrapped up his six-show engagement at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Feb. 15, 2025. When Shelton steps away for concert tours or television appearances, he still has a presence in Vegas since opening his Ole Red honky tonk on the Strip in January 2024, which offers food, drinks, and live music all day long. Sphere Las Vegas has presented spectacular residency shows since opening on Sept. 29, 2023, with iconic rock band U2's residency, which ran for 40 shows and ended on March 2, 2024. The Sphere's developers originally estimated that building the multi-media venue would cost about $1.2 billion, but it went way over budget, costing $2.3 billion. Jam band Phish performed a short four-show engagement on April 18-21, 2024, after U2 completed its residency and before classic jam band Dead & Company embarked on its Dead Forever residency on May 16, 2024, finishing its 30-show run on Aug. 10, 2024. Next came legendary rock band The Eagles, who launched their Sphere residency on Sept. 20, 2024, with four shows each in September and October, and then incrementally added four more shows each month for a total of 32 shows that were set to end on April 12, 2025. Dead & Company, which features original Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Mickey Hart, along with John Mayer, Oteil Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti, and Jay Lane, returns for a new run of shows in March, April, and May 2025. The residency is set to end on May 17 unless the band extends it again. Country music has been a large part of the entertainment choices in Las Vegas for decades, and the Sphere lineup of performers wouldn't be complete without a major country star's performance. Sphere Las Vegas will present its first country superstar residency when popular singer Kenny Chesney opens his Live at Sphere engagement for 15 shows beginning May 22, 2025, and scheduled to end June 21, 2025. After Chesney finishes his shows, another music genre will take the stage as the first boy band residency opens at the Sphere with The Backstreet Boys launching their "Into the Millennium" shows starting July 11. The band announced its residency with 12 shows and has already extended the run twice for a total of 18 shows ending on Aug. Eagles seem to be settling into the Sphere for a long run, as the band revealed on social media that it has extended its residency at Sphere Las Vegas for an additional four shows on Sept. 5, 6, 12, and 13.
