Hailee Steinfeld Walks Down the Aisle to Marry Josh Allen in Gorgeous California Wedding

Actress Hailee Steinfeld was photographed walking down the aisle to marry the Buffalo Bills quarterback, 29, at their California wedding on Saturday, May 31. In photos of the nuptials, the bride can be seen wearing a white strapless wedding gown, accessorized with a long tulle veil and opera gloves. She styled her hair in a classic updo. The couple — who were first linked in May 2023 and debuted their relationship on Instagram in July 2024 — announced their engagement back in November. They shared the news via a joint Instagram post at the time, featuring a photo of the NFL player down on one knee in front of the Dickinson star, 28. From the looks of it, Allen went all out for the waterfront proposal, setting up a stunning, rose-adorned arch and dozens of candles. The pair captioned the post with the date of their engagement — Nov. 22 — and added two infinity symbols. Following the news that Allen had popped the question, a source told PEOPLE that the pair's families "were thrilled" that they had taken this next step in their relationship. "They've been head over heels from the start," the insider added. Steinfeld later shared details of the romantic proposal in a cover story for Who What Wear published on Feb. 19. She told the outlet that Allen caught her completely by surprise. When asked if she had any suspicions leading up to the proposal, she replied, "Oh my God, no! You talk to your girlfriends about that, right, where you're like, 'I just don't want to know.' " She said the romantic moment unfolded during a trip to Malibu, Calif., which she described as her "happy place." "It was magical," she said of the proposal. "That's the word." Never miss a story — sign up for to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories. Steinfeld also praised Allen — who in March signed a new, six-year deal with the Bills worth $330 million — for making sure she was dressed for the occasion. "I'm so grateful that he did it the way he did so that I looked good, and we have these photos that we'll have and cherish for the rest of our lives that I'm not looking at being like, 'What was I wearing?' " the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse star joked to Who What Wear. In February, Allen and Steinfeld made their red carpet debut as a couple when they stepped out to the 14th Annual NFL Honors in New Orleans. During the ceremony, when Allen was named the league's 2025 Most Valuable Player, the pair shared a sweet kiss before the athlete went up to collect his trophy. In his acceptance speech, Allen gave a little shout-out to Steinfeld, telling her, "You've been my rock, you're my best friend. I would not be standing on the stage if it weren't for you." Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen are married

Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen have gotten married. The 28-year-old actress and the Buffalo Bills quarterback were photographed walking down the aisle at a ceremony in California on Saturday (May 31). The couple were initially linked romantically back in 2023 and went on to announce their engagement in an Instagram post last November — although the NFL star's proposal caught Hailee by surprise. Asked if she suspected that Josh would pop the question, the Sinners star told Who What Wear: "Oh my god, no! You talk to your girlfriends about that, right, where you're like, 'I just don't want to know'." She added about the proposal: "It was magical. That's the word." Hailee was also delighted that Josh, 29, made sure that she was dressed appropriately for the occasion. She said: "I'm so grateful that he did it the way he did so that I looked good, and we have these photos that we'll have to cherish for the rest of our lives that I'm not looking at being like, 'What was I wearing?'" Josh recently described how he was really "proud" of Hailee following her starring role in the critically acclaimed horror movie Sinners. He said: "I'm so excited for her and so proud of her. "It's getting some great reviews and it's a fantastic movie, so go watch it." The quarterback is one of the top players in the NFL and signed a six-year deal with the Buffalo Bills worth $330 million (S$425.2 million) in March but is happy to let his sporting talents take a backseat to Hailee's acting success. Josh said: "I'm just there trying to support her in whatever way that I can. "That was her moment and I'm so glad she got to shine." Hailee had claimed in April that she was focusing on promoting Sinners — in which she plays the character Mary — before sorting out arrangements for her and Josh's wedding. The Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse star told Extra: "We are in the middle of a press tour. We got a movie coming out in 12 days? Six, something. We're focused on that." Steinfeld explained that she had learnt a lot about herself and her family during the making of the film, which is set in the south of the US during the 1930s. She said: "I would say I learned a lot about my myself through Mary and even more about my family history … I had so many amazing conversations with my mom about her family and about her dad, my grandfather, who is half black, who I wish every day — because of this movie and for so many other reasons — I could call and ask him all the questions, and I would absolutely do that if he were here." Genre-defining comic book writer Peter David has died at the age of 68. His wife, Kathleen O'Shea, shared the news in a heartfelt message on Facebook. David was responsible for reimagining some of the most beloved superheroes in modern pop culture The news of Peter David's death was announced by his wife Kathleen O'Shea on social media. The American writer had been grappling with a series of health complications in recent years, including advanced kidney disease. The fundraiser quickly surpassed expectations, drawing more than $117,000 in donations and messages of love from fans and industry peers around the world. He is survived by his wife Kathleen and daughters Ariel, Shana, Gwen and Caroline. David's influence on comic book storytelling is immeasurable. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he brought depth, wit and psychological nuance to characters often dismissed as one-dimensional. He also introduced readers to Miguel O'Hara, better known as Spider-Man 2099 — a futuristic reimagining of the Marvel icon who recently leapt back into the spotlight as a central figure in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. David's storytelling fingerprints are also found across The Avengers, Captain Marvel, Supergirl, Fantastic Four, and Wolverine, to name just a few. At DC Comics, he co-created Young Justice, a teen superhero team that would go on to inspire a cult favourite animated series running for four acclaimed seasons. His writing crossed over into television as well, with contributions to Babylon 5, Ben 10: Alien Force, and the Young Justice TV series itself. Over the years, David was honoured with some of the industry's highest accolades, including the prestigious Eisner Award and a GLAAD Media Award in 2011 for his work highlighting LGBTQ+ representation in comics. Fans across generations will remember him not only for the worlds he built, but for the humanity he brought to heroes in spandex.
