What Time Does ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' Drop on Disney+?
Marvel is back with an all-new Spider-Man story with the animated series 'Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.' Originally conceived as a prequel to Tom Holland's debut as the web-slinger in 'Captain America: Civil War,' the series was rejiggered as an original story that imagines what might happen to Peter Parker if he was mentored by Norman Osborn instead of Tony Stark. It has been a heck of a long wait since the series was first announced (originally titled 'Spider-Man: Freshman Year') back in 2021, but the 'Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' is finally here — almost. Here is exactly what time you can watch the new Spider-Man series streaming on Disney+. The first two episodes of the series debut on Wednesday, Jan. 29. Unlike the recent Marvel series 'Agatha All Along,' which debuted at 6 p.m., 'Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' will have a more traditional release schedule. New episodes are available to stream at midnight PT/3:00 a.m. ET. While the release time is a bit more standard, the episode release schedule is a little more unusual. The series will have 10 episodes that roll out across four weeks, dropping two episodes on the premiere and finale weeks and three episodes per week in between. The voice actors for the series include Hudson Thames, who previously voiced Peter Parker in 'What If?,' as well as Colman Domingo, Eugene Byrd, Grace Song, Zeno Robinson, Hugh Dancy and Charlie Cox as Daredevil. "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" Renewed for Season 2 and 3
Yara Sameh Disney has great faith in the latest Disney+ Marvel series, the animated outing "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" has been renewed for season 2 and season 3. Set to release on January 29, the show follows a parallel timeline where Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, is mentored by Norman Osborn, the alter-ego of his archenemy the Green Goblin, instead of Tony Stark like in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cast members include Hudson Thames as the titular web-slinger, Colman Domingo as Osborn, Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May, and Hugh Dancy as Doctor Octopus. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio will reprise their roles from the 'Daredevil' Netflix series, and Paul F. Tompkins will take on the role of classic Marvel Comics villain The Wizard. The news was shared by Marvel's Television and Streaming head Brad Winderbaum in a recent The Movie Podcast just days before the debut of the series. Winderbaum connected virtually with the podcast and disclosed he was 'head over heels in love with these characters' from the animated series. He shared details regarding Season 2 of "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" and added, 'I've now read all the scripts for Season 2, we're halfway through the animatics. What Jeff (Jeff Trammell) is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off.' The series, which was previously named "Spider-Man: Freshman Year", was renewed for Season 2 in 2022. He further discussed his connection with the characters of the show and asserted that it 'gets deeper and deeper in subsequent seasons.' Additionally, Winderbaum revealed the surprise news that "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" is already greenlit to return for a third season. Winderbaum said, 'We're also greenlit for through Season 3, and in a couple weeks, I'm gonna hear his pitch for the third season of the show, and I'm like a fan, I can't wait.' Spider-Man has been a major earner for Marvel ever since Tom Holland took over the part in 2016 with the release of 'Captain America: Civil War.' Holland has played the web-slinging hero five times since. His latest film, 'Spider-Man: No Way Home,' released in 2021, went on to become the seventh highest-grossing movie of all time. Before Spider-Man joined the MCU, the franchise was first helmed by Sam Raimi for Sony Pictures. The pairing would produce three movies in 2002, 2004, and 2007 starring Toby Maguire. Sony would then reboot the series in 2012 with Andrew Garfield, and all three Spideys had a memorable reunion in 'No Way Home.' The team helming this new take on 'Spider-Man' includes Jeff Trammell as head writer and Mel Zwyer as supervising director. Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt and Trammell serve as executive producers. "Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man" will hit Disney+ with its first two episodes on January 29.
