This Mobile mayoral candidate just topped $1 million in contributions
MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Spiro Cheriogotis has topped $1 million in contributions in his race to be the Mayor of Mobile. The latest campaign finance reports filed with the Alabama Secretary of State show Cheriogotis has raised $1,041,522 in cash contributions, which is more than his three opponents combined. He has spent about half of the money he has raised, through August 1. Former Gulf Breeze High School student arrested on child porn charges: ECSO Connie Hudson has received $492,807 in cash contributions and has $375,727 on hand. Barbara Drummond has raised $303,480 and still has $196,583 to spend. Paul Prine has raised the least money: $161,052. He still has $78,805 in hand. Mobile's municipal election is Tuesday, Aug. 26. WKRG News 5 to host Mobile mayoral debate: How to watch and submit questions
MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The four candidates running for mayor of Mobile have agreed to participate in a live, primetime debate on WKRG News 5. The debate will take place on Monday, Aug. 4, from 7-8 p.m. Viewers can watch the debate on WKRG-TV or the WKRG+ app, stream it on or watch on WKRG's Facebook page. Former District Judge Spiro Cheriogotis, State Rep. Barbara Drummond, County Commissioner Connie Hudson and former Police Chief Paul Prine are vying for the seat currently held by Sandy Stimpson. Stimpson is not running for a fourth term in office. will moderate the debate. Questions will be formulated by News 5 and submitted by viewers and the candidates themselves. Mobile mayoral candidate Spiro Cheriogotis tops other candidates in fundraising
MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — With seven weeks until election day, Spiro Cheriogotis has more money to spend than the three other mayoral candidates in Mobile have combined. Annual Blue Marlin Grand Championship returning to Orange Beach Recent financial filings with the Alabama Secretary of State show the former District Court judge received $125,545 in cash donations in June and now has a balance of $698,700. County Commissioner Connie Hudson raised $70,665 in June and now has a balance of $419,120. State Representative Barbara Drummond received $54,100 in cash contributions last month. She now has a $160,000 balance. Former Police Chief Paul Prine has $108,300 to spend after raising $45,900 in June. Cheriogotis has now raised $937,700 during the entirety of the campaign. Hudson has gotten $446,200 in donations and brought over $158,000 from her campaign funds for previous county commission races. Drummond transferred $30,000 from her state representative campaign funds and has raised another $149,250. Prine has raised $137,670 total.
