Erie Philharmonic brings back summer concert series
A popular music series is returning this summer. The Erie Philharmonic will be hosting its 'In Your Hometown' summer concert series from July 10 through August 6. Erie Philharmonic Music Director Daniel Meyer is excited to share the Philharmonic's music with the public. 'Our free outdoor concerts have become a popular tradition, with audiences across Erie County bringing picnic blankets, lounge chairs, and some food and drink as they hear us in a casual atmosphere,' he says. Splash Lagoon offering special ticket pricing for Erie Co. residents Concerts will take place in Corry, Meadville, North East, Girard and Edinboro. Depending on the date and location, the public can expect to hear the Philharmonic orchestra, brass ensemble or chamber ensemble. Erie's Wild Rib Cook Off serving up ‘grill vibes' in Perry Square
Erie's Wild Rib Cook Off & Music Festival kicked off on Wednesday in Perry Square. The festival features national touring, award-winning barbeque teams. Rack 'em up! Preparations for Erie's Wild Rib Cook Off are underway The popular event is in its 32nd year and has more than just slow-cooked meats. Craft booths, beer and spirits, inflatable rides and live music also add to the fun. Teams from as far away as Arkansas, Virginia and South Carolina are taking part in the four-day festival. Splash Lagoon offering special ticket pricing for Erie Co. residents But there's also a local barbecue master looking to show up all the rest. 'We can hang with these guys. We absolutely can. We've proven that many years in a row that the local barbeque shops can compete with the national guys, so we're just here representing Erie,' said Michael Loveranes, owner of Outlaw Barbeque. (WJET/WFXP) – A popular indoor water park is looking to give back to local heroes this weekend. On Sunday, May 4, Splash Lagoon is offering firefighters free admission into the park, along with a discounted ticket for family members in their party. Splash Lagoon to host special Mother's Day weekend event Firefighters are required to bring a valid ID and proof of service to receive free admission, and tickets for family members will cost $39.95 per person. Nick Scott Jr., vice president and owner of Scott Enterprises, which owns Splash Lagoon, said that this promotion is a way to give back to those who risk their lives to protect our community. Splash Lagoon to host special Mother's Day weekend event
(WJET/WFXP) – A local water park is showing their appreciation for women in the community. On Saturday, May 10, Splash Lagoon will host a special Mother's Day event to celebrate the important women in our lives. Erie Philharmonic presents new Beatles themed multimedia show The event will feature a VIP ice cream social, princess dance party and moms will receive free admission into the park on Mother's Day. General manager Ryan Cherry spoke about why the park is hosting the event. Shelter animals strut their stuff at Erie Humane Society's fourth annual Mutt Gala 'It's our way of showing appreciation for all the amazing moms who bring joy to their families.
