Knicks fan loses out on $1,000 for disastrous tic-tac-toe showing: ‘What are we doing?'
The Knicks had their X's and O's in order Thursday night. The same can't exactly be said of one of their fans. Advertisement During a stoppage of the Knicks' Game 5 win over the Pacers at the Garden on Thursday, a pair of fans went head-to-head in a full-court game of tic-tac-toe. Make a basket, get a letter and use it to beat your opponent in one of the first games we all learn as children. One of them, however, forgot to defend, eschewing a block between a pair of Xs to drop an O in an opposite corner, paving the way for a disastrous loss. The blunder was costly enough — the fan didn't win the $1,000 prize — and doing so in front of 19,812 fans at the World's Most Famous Arena, a set that included a stacked celebrity row of Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Ben Stiller, Mariska Hargitay and more. Advertisement In a game of tic-tac-toe at the Garden, one fan opted not to play defense and handed victory to his opponent. SportsCenter/ESPN Let's hope the fan didn't try to ease their loss by watching 'SportsCenter' when they got home, either, as host Scott Van Pelt nearly lost his mind trying to figure out what happened. Advertisement 'What are we doing? This… This… Have you ever played the game?' he decried during the midnight showing on ESPN. 'There's an X here and an X here … the O has to go here. It isn't complicated. It's a simple game. We play it as children.' Follow The Post's coverage of the Knicks in the 2025 NBA Playoffs Sports+ subscribers: Sign up for Inside the Knicks to get daily newsletter coverage and join Expert Take for insider texts about the series. Van Pelt didn't stop there, as the breakdown continued. Advertisement 'I get it: you're running, there's a lot of people watching,' he said. 'Really, the second O is a catastrophe. How the hell do you put it there when the X is here? Now you understand, I've got to block the two Xs. … What are we doing? I understand. Timothee Chalamet, he's in the front row … you're nervous.' SportsCenter host Scott Van Pelt was unsparing in his breakdown of the disastrous game. SportsCenter/ESPN The Knicks — unlike this fan — get another crack at their foe in Saturday's Game 6, thanks to the 111-94 win Thursday night.

NFL insider says Rams, Cowboys are teams to watch in Jalen Ramsey trade talks
The Miami Dolphins are in talks with several teams about a trade involving cornerback Jalen Ramsey and the Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys are among the top teams to watch, according to one NFL insider. A deal involving the seven-time Pro Bowl cornerback has been a foregone conclusion since April when Dolphins general manager Chris Grier announced in a press conference that the two sides were ready to part ways. The delay in a deal getting done is likely because Miami is waiting until June for salary cap reasons. The Dolphins have also reportedly been looking for interested teams to take on a significant portion of Ramsey's $24.2 million fully guaranteed salary. Advertisement "The Dolphins haven't shown a willingness to pay a lot of that money and neither do [other] teams," Jeremy Fowler said Friday on ESPN's SportsCenter. "The LA Rams have been previously involved here, they won a Super Bowl with Ramsey, they're very familiar with the player. Nothing hard and fast, though, as far as a deal. "NFC East could be one to watch. The Dallas Cowboys, they made three trades this offseason for players on rookie deals, could they make a fourth trade for a veteran who's on a bigger contract? They need cornerback help. When I talked to someone in Dallas, they said 'It's possible we're not done. It's slow right now, but we could always be looking to add.'" Last month, a report highlighted five teams -- the Rams, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Washington Commanders, and Philadelphia Eagles -- as interested in Ramsey. Kirby Smart fires back at Paul Finebaum over Gunner Stockton comments
SEC college football expert Paul Finebaum has expressed significant concern about Gunner Stockton being Georgia's starting quarterback for the upcoming college football season. "I'd say that's a big not fine.", said Finebaum about Gunner Stockton serving as Georgia's starting quarterback during a "Fine/Not Fine" segment on ESPN's SportsCenter. "I know the team coalesced around him after the SEC championship game, but I was underwhelmed by what I saw from Gunner Stockton in the Sugar Bowl loss to Notre Dame." Advertisement In the Sugar Bowl against Notre Dame, Stockton, making his first career start, completed 20 of 32 passes for 234 yards and one touchdown. Georgia lost the game 23-10, struggling on offense with two fumbles and failing to convert any of their three fourth-down attempts. Kirby Smart later joined addressed Finebaum's show and discussed his comments directly. "I didn't miss it," said Smart when asked about Finebaum's comments. "Yeah, I'm excited. Gunner (Stockton) got the message, man." Smart implies that Finebaum's comments will serve as motivation for Stockton, who is projected to be Georgia's starting quarterback in 2025. While Smart has not officially named Stockton the starter, all signs point to him taking the role, especially given his experience in the system compared to other UGA quarterbacks like Ryan Puglisi. "I feel like at this point in your career, you need a little bit of help from me," said Finebaum. "To get you to the first game and over the finish line." Smart's comments with Paul Finebaum "I am glad you did!" said Smart. "That's why I always come on your show because I love the fact that you give me all that motivation."
