Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons' son James, 4, suffered a ‘serious health scare': ‘Extremely frightening'
Kirsten Dunst is recalling a terrifying incident.
The 'Roofman' star, 43, revealed that she and Jesse Plemons' youngest son, James, 4, had a 'serious health scare' earlier this year.
Dunst told Town & Country that Plemons, 37, and sons James and Ennis, 7, joined her in Budapest while she filmed the movie 'The Entertainment System Is Down' in January.

The couple, who tied the knot in 2022, rented a house and enrolled Ennis in a school in Hungary.
The family's original plan was to stay put during the film's six-month shoot.

However, things became 'extremely frightening' when James got sick. In response, Plemons, Ennis, and James went back to Los Angeles to be around their extended family.
Dunst recalled being alone in Budapest, feeling like ''Final Destination,' where you're imagining all the things that could go wrong, worst-case scenarios happening to your child.'

'I have never seen that movie,' the 'Bring It On' star continued. 'But I know the concept. That's how it feels to be a mother at times.'

At one point, the mom-of-two did fly back to LA for a quick visit in April.
Dunst has kept mum about the details surrounding James' health woes, but she did confirm to the outlet that 'everyone is fine now.'
The 'Power of the Dog' actress also took a moment to gush over her partner, noting that the incident 'brought us together as a family in a deeper way.'

The family of four went on to plan a getaway to 'anywhere James wanted to go.'
They chose the Bahamas as James's only requirement was, 'I want to go to a beach where my sandcastle won't wash away.'
Dunst has largely kept her kids out of the spotlight, but did reveal an inside look into her youngest's personality last year.
'He's almost three and when he's bad we call him Jimmy,' she expressed while on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' in April 2024. 'He's out of control. We actually call him baby Chris Farley because of the way he walks around and he's just hilarious. He's a crazy little dude.'

Dunst also confessed that both her sons have seen her in the 2002 'Spider-Man' movie, but weren't impressed.
'Jimmy doesn't care. I think because I have red hair, but Jimmy just wants to watch the wrestling scene over and over again in 'Spider-Man 1,'' she stated.
'So you've shown the movie to them?' asked host Jimmy Kimmel, 57.

'Yes, I have. The only one that cares…honestly Ennis is afraid of it. And Jimmy's like psh psh psh,' she added before mimicking Spider-Man shooting out his webs. 'All around the house.'
In 2024, Dunst gushed over motherhood.
'They make me better at what I do, for sure,' she told EXTRA at the time. 'I think once you become a mom, you're just more fearless in life.'

Plemons, for his part, has also opened up about becoming a dad.
'It's the best, man. It's so hard to put into words. All the cliches are true, what every parent tells you,' he told GQ in 2019.

Despite having famous parents, Dunst made it clear she wants her kids to wait to enter the limelight.
'If you have a kid who's very cute, I get why people do it. Do a Gap ad and you can make your college money. It's the first time I kind of understand it,' she told PorterEdit in 2019. 'Ennis is so adorable, with two big dimples. He is such a happy baby, and I see why I might want that memento of him at this age, but we will probably just encourage him to do school plays.'
