Kids spotted by officers wearing their helmets while biking / skating / rollerblading will be 'ticketed'. These tickets can be exchanged for free ice cream at K&W Drive-In on South Main St. Brookville community uplifted by man's generous free bicycle giveaway The tickets are valid until Monday, June 30. This is for National Bike Month. If you are a parent/guardian of a child who doesn't have a helmet, the Springboro PD will help get them a helmet for free. Email jennifer@ for more information. 3 juveniles arrested following Springboro car break-ins

SPRINGBORO, Ohio (WDTN) — Three juveniles were taken into custody following reports of car break-ins earlier this week. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, three juvenile suspects were arrested in relation to several car thefts and break-ins that occurred on May 6-7. Several law enforcement jurisdictions came together after video surveillance showed a group of suspects attempting to break into cars at a Springboro apartment complex. The suspects were shown pulling on car door handles, and fleeing when they were confronted. Springboro authorities tracked the suspects into Montgomery County, where the sheriff's office got involved. Through the use of drone technology, three suspects were found and arrested. The sheriff's office says three loaded firearms were recovered, with one of those weapons confirmed as stolen. All three juveniles were booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on charges of Carrying Concealed Weapons and Obstructing Official Business. One suspect was charged with Receiving Stolen Property. ‘Troubling social media trend' has students forcing objects into Chromebooks

A local school district has urged parents to speak to their children about the dangers of a 'troubling social media trend' involving Chromebooks. The school district said it is a social media trend that has circulated nationwide and is now being seen in some local communities. 'This trend encourages students to intentionally damage school Chromebooks or electrical outlets by inserting metal objects or pencil lead into USB ports or outlets,' Springboro schools said. 'The goal of these videos is to cause sparks, smoke, or even fire—posing a safety risk.' Springboro Schools asked parents to speak to their children about those dangers. 'In addition to the risk of injury, these actions can result in damaged equipment and police involvement,' the school district said. Kowalski finished as a state-runner up this past season and will take his talents to Indiana to wrestle in the prestigious Big Ten for the Hoosiers this fall.
