Springtime showers impacts Utah amid pleasant temperatures
SALT LAKE CITY () – Happy Monday, Utah! It was a gorgeous Easter weekend, but we're kicking off the workweek with a few light showers in the north. The bottom line? On-and-off Springtime rain showers impact parts of the state through the week, but temperatures will be pleasant. A system is grazing us to the north, bringing a few showers to the Wasatch Front and Northern Mountains early Monday morning. By the afternoon hours, the wet weather will have tapered off for the most part, but a few lingering showers could be seen in parts of Central Utah and the West Desert with the help of daytime heating. Overall, Southern Utah will have clear skies and will be slightly warmer than yesterday, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s. The warm spots will hit the mid to upper 70s, possibly even hitting 80° in lower Washington County. Northern Utah can expect a mix of sun and clouds with some morning showers, but temperatures will be similar to yesterday, with highs in the low to mid-60s for valleys and 50s for higher terrain. On Tuesday, there is a lull in the moisture with sunny skies across the Beehive State and temperatures warming to the upper 60s and low 70s for valleys and low to mid 80s for St. George and other hot spots. More moisture begins filling in on Wednesday, bringing mostly cloudy skies to most of the state, especially in the north, where we could start seeing a few light showers pop up. On Thursday, a large low-pressure trough digs deeper into the Pacific Ocean, which will usher in more moisture on a southwesterly flow. Southerly winds will also transport warm air into Northern Utah, so snow levels will be limited to mountaintops above 8,500 feet. On Friday, lingering moisture could spell a few more showers, but mostly in higher terrain, although we can't rule out a few showers in valleys as well. Friday will also bring warm temperatures with highs in the mid-70s for valleys, which puts us about 10-15 degrees above seasonal norms. Saturday will have a similar setup to Friday, but just a few degrees cooler. We've got our eyes on another storm that could round out the weekend, bringing much cooler weather by Sunday. Temperatures drop back to seasonal norms to close the work week
SALT LAKE CITY () – Happy Friday, Utah! We've had an unseasonably warm work week with above-average daytime highs and dry skies, but we are closing it out with highs around average thanks to a passing cold front overnight. The bottom line? Valley rain/mountain snow and much cooler temperatures are on deck for parts of the weekend and into next week. While moisture was limited with the front, the temperature dip was not, so expect a much cooler day with highs dropping 15-20 degrees from what we've grown accustomed to over the last couple of days. Daytime highs will bottom out in the mid-50s to low 60s for valleys, upper 60s to low 70s for warm spots down south, and low 50s for higher terrain. More cloud cover will be noticeable and although skies are gray, precipitation will be limited to a few light showers in the Cache and Ogden Valleys in the morning, and light isolated showers in the late afternoon and evening for eastern Utah. What little precipitation we do see will be mostly rain, but mountain valleys could see snow as snow levels drop to 6,500 feet on Friday night. More wet weather is on deck to start the weekend! On Saturday morning a more moisture-rich system will move into the state bringing scattered showers. Northern and central Utah will be favored, but showers could easily be seen as far south as Cedar City. Snow levels will drop to about 5,500 feet which means that valleys will see straight rain, snow in mountain valleys, and a mix of both on the upper benches. Mountain snow totals will be modest, about three to eight inches will be possible through Saturday, but we'll continue fine-tuning those numbers as we draw nearer. We get a brief break on Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds, so it's not a bad day to get some final runs in before the ski resorts are closed for the season. Wet weather potential increases again on Monday and things could stay soggy for a large chunk of the workweek. We even have the chance for Springtime snow in our valleys by midweek, but that's still a ways off – one storm at a time! We'll keep you posted on the latest updates in our 4Warn Weather forecast both on-air and online, we are Good4Utah! Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
