The South Korean has been at Spurs for the last decade, scoring 173 goals and providing 101 assists across 454 games for the north London club. Son is a hugely popular player at Tottenham, having recently helped them end their 17-year wait for a trophy by clinching the Europa League title. But it seems that the Spurs captain is set to leave in the current summer transfer window after The Telegraph dropped a huge update on Tuesday. Why have Spurs decided to sell Son Heung-min? The newspaper reports that Son is set for an exit because Spurs wish to 'generate transfer funds' and 'reshape their squad' for the 2025-26 season. Son, who can operate as a left winger or centre-forward, is wanted by several teams from Saudi Arabia and Spurs are keen to cash in on him. Son conjured up seven goals and 10 assists across 30 Premier League games in the 2024-25 campaign under head coach Ange Postecoglou. He was named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for 2021 and landed the Premier League Golden Boot in 2022. Ryan Mason leaves Tottenham to take over as West Brom head coach
Ryan Mason has left Tottenham to take over as West Brom head coach on a three-year deal. Mason quickly emerged as a leading candidate for the Championship club after they dismissed Tony Mowbray on April 21. Spurs' roller-coaster 2024-25 campaign – in which they secured Europa League success – only ended on May 25 and forced West Brom to bide their time but Mason, after a short holiday, decided to accept their offer and take his first step into management. Introducing our new men's first team Head Coach, Ryan Mason! 💙🤍 — West Bromwich Albion (@WBA) June 2, 2025 'I'm absolutely thrilled to have been appointed head coach of West Bromwich Albion,' Mason told the club's website. 'This is a huge club with a fantastic infrastructure and an incredible fan-base and I am excited about what we can achieve together. 'Having spoken at length to the board and those at the club, I am convinced that Albion is the perfect place for me to be and I can't wait to get started. 'I will bring with me a huge amount of enthusiasm, dedication and ambition and look forward to a positive future together at such a fantastic club.' At the age of 33, Mason becomes the youngest boss in the Championship and this move ends his seven-year coaching career at Tottenham. Mason, who progressed through Spurs' academy to play 70 times for his boyhood team, was forced to cut short his playing career in 2018 after he sustained a fractured skull in a Premier League match for Hull at Chelsea a year earlier. A decade on from earning his solitary England cap against Italy, the London-born coach will embark on his first managerial role in the 2025-26 season. Highly-rated coach Mason held talks with Belgian club Anderlecht in October before a mutual decision was made to remain at Spurs, which enabled him to play his part in the club's first trophy since 2008. After two previous caretaker stints at Tottenham, including leading the club in the 2021 Carabao Cup final, Mason has long been tipped for a future in management. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ryan Mason (@ryan8mason) Mason initially started coaching at youth level for Spurs upon his playing retirement before being promoted to Antonio Conte's coaching staff three years later, not long after a seven-game spell as interim boss. Another caretaker role came in 2023 following Conte's departure before Ange Postecoglou kept Mason as part of his backroom team. After a further two years as Tottenham first-team coach, Mason will take over West Brom after they finished ninth in the Championship. Mowbray was dismissed in April after their play-off hopes ended despite only being hired in January to replace Carlos Corberan, who left to take over at Valencia.

Ange Postecoglou sack decision latest and betting odds on next Tottenham manager
Tottenham Hotspur's silence on Ange Postecoglou's future as manager beyond the 2025/26 season has sparked speculation, despite him leading the team to a historic Europa League victory over Manchester United in Bilbao. The Greek-Australian gaffer, who ended Spurs' 17-year trophy drought, expressed his bewilderment at the lack of clarity from the club. "I will be honest I have been finding it really weird talking about my future when we have done something unprecedented. I have had to answer the questions because no one else at the club is in the position to do so I guess," Postecoglou remarked following the 4-1 loss to Brighton. "But I can't answer that question about me and my future. Like I said, part of me is thinking 'why am I even being asked that question?' But it is what it is. "I have got no doubt though that this could be a real defining moment for this club because wherever I have been I have made an impact where I have brought success to a club that hasn't had it for a while. You just have to look at those clubs' trajectory even after I left, they are still competing for things", reports Football London. "I really think this is a moment in time where this club could push on and be a real contender for honours on a yearly basis." Nonetheless, the 37 games prior to that look set to be taken into account with the club needing to soon make a final manager decision as they are being left behind in the transfer market. Speculation around potential new bosses for Tottenham is rife with Fulham's Marco Silva, Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner, and Brentford's Thomas Frank all rumoured to be in the running. Bet365's latest odds have these gents leading the pack for who might be at the helm come August 16, 2025. While Postecoglou staying on is pegged as most likely at odds of 4/6, Frank is nipping at his heels with a 5/4 chance, and Glasner is a longer shot at 16/1. Matching Glasner's odds is Simone Inzaghi of Inter Milan, despite the questions surrounding his commitment amidst interests from Saudi Pro League giants Al Hilal. "We are lucky to work in a wonderful club with guys who are great footballers and great men," Inzaghi expressed when grilled about the gossip. "In these four years, they have given me everything they had. We have won, we have lost, but there is this strong attachment that is what I like and makes me feel calm. "The senior management are here [in Munich for the Champions League final], but we'll have a chat next week in a relaxed manner. We will always have the best interest of Inter at heart." After the humbling 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, which now means Spurs will face PSG inthe UEFA Super Cup, he was again asked about a potential Middle East switch. "As I was saying before to your colleague, I cannot answer this question now," he said. "I came here out of respect for you, for politeness, because I am hurting from a sporting point of view. It's not the right time to talk about the future. We are extremely disappointed, and since July of last year we've played 58 or 59 games, we got to this final match, so it's awkward to talk about my future now. "Again, we are extremely disappointed. We will be talking about the fact that we won no silverware this year, but these players deserve great credit because they gave it their very best shot, and we suffered a lot of injuries. I wouldn't change these players for anyone else." Despite the speculation surrounding Inzaghi's future, former Barcelona head coach Xavi and Valencia manager Carlos Corberan are also reportedly in contention, with bookies offering odds of 8/1 and 10/1 respectively.

Ange Postecoglou faces Tottenham 'D-Day' as Celtic hero on sack red alert despite Europa League win
Postecoglou is said to under serious pressure to keep his job just weeks after delivering Spurs' first European trophy since 1984 Ange Postecoglou will reportedly learn if he will be kept on as Tottenham boss next week - with the Aussie's position said to be under serious threat. Despite a woeful Premier League campaign where his side finished just one place outside the relegation zone, the Celtic hero ended the campaign on a high by leading Spurs to glory in the Europa League final with a 1-0 win against Manchester United - their first piece of silverware in 17 years. The veteran boss came under scrutiny for telling the press throughout the season that he always wins something in his second year, and the victory in Bilbao has not only ended the club's long wait for silverware but has also won them a spot in the revamped group stage of the Champions League next season. However, according to The Telegraph, Postecoglou could still be shown the door, with chairman Daniel Levy and the rest of the board set to meet with the 59-year-old next week to make a final decision on his future. It's described as 'D-Day' for the boss who is said to face the merciless threat of the sack despite delivering European gold. After their Europa League triumph last over the Red Devils, Postecoglou insisted that he wants to continue in his role in North London as he believes the club are heading in the right direction. He said: "I've had such a laser focus on winning this. "Whatever happens, happens. "We are still building this team, it is still very young, we need to add experience. "My thought process has been trying to build a team that can be successful for a long time, but I am manager, it is not in my hands but it doesn't affect me, if it did you would have seen it. "I want to stay. "I haven't completed a job yet, but the moment I accepted the role I had one thing in my head and that was to win something, I want to build on it."
